How great would it be to know for sure what all these stones were used for. I had no idea there were so many of them up on Dartmoor. Stunning video, those clouds are amazing. You should have had a night in Gidleigh Park instead of a tent and treated yourself! I've never stayed but passed it once when my satnav got me lost!

Wouldn't it be great if we could go back in time? I wouldn't have found the hotel either if I didn't get lost myself but I've just checked the prices, yeah I need a new tent...

Spectacular views to wake up to in the morning and make you feel good to be alive. Those sensors looked very interesting. What brand are they as they look like something I could find helpful? 😁

It's a wonderful way to start the day, even better when you sleep well! The sensors were by Ankilo, there's plenty alternatives, probably just as good but I got them on a deal on Amazon. I found them useful to find out what the real temp was rather than the weather app. Thanks for watching Chris.

Thanks for this highly interesting walk. It’s been a good forty or so years since I was on Dartmoor and I’d forgotten just how full it is with monumental evidence of our ancestors. I remember the Grey Whethers, and wonder how accurate the restoration was back then. I look forward to the second instalment.

There are so many sites of interest on the Moors from different stages of history, it could keep me busy for ages. From what I read about another site that was restored (next video) the restoration was pretty accurate as there was evidence in the soil of where the stones were placed. Glad you liked it an thanks for watching Mark.

@@WalkingDevon my father, now 96, was a surveyor with the OS. As kids we tramped all over Devon, where he’d been born, armed with information provided by the Ordnance Survey’s archaeological department. I reckon we must have visited most stone circles and monuments in the West Country.

What a great experience to share with your Dad, I doubt many people have seen as many as you both!
