It is interesting how many ppl around the world have been brainwashed to think cambodia was a civilization of "barbarians" but the detailed and intricate art and architecture of cambodia tell a different story. I could only imagine how life would have been like there back in history. Awesome video as always. Thanks for sharing with the world.

The name Angkor Wat is synonymous with travel, adventure, and Cambodia. However, a common misconception is that it’s just one site. In reality, Angkor Wat serves the most iconic part of a larger, 400 square kilometer (154.4 sqmi) archeological park. The hallowed grounds are considered one of the most important in Southeast Asia and chronicle the Hindu and Buddhist beliefs of the Khmer Empire between the 9th and 15th centuries. In this first installment of Out and About, I take you on a four-day journey through Angkor Wat Archeological Park. The episode begins at sundown on our arrival day and trip to the park to obtain admission tickets and a breathtaking sunset inside one of the temples. We then return to Angkor Wat the following morning to explore the famous UNSECO site World Heritage site and Little Circuit. Day two focuses on completing the previous day’s task as well as seeing other temples on the Big Circuit, culminating with a return visit to Angkor Wat as the sun fades into oblivion. Our final day inside the park began well before sunrise. Staking out ground beside one of two reflecting pools in front of Angkor Wat, we waited patiently for the sun to rise. Getting there early was key, as hundreds of people try to out do one another for that perfect shot. From there, we traveled to the extreme reaches of the park for some of the lessor known sights, that were in many ways just as beautiful, if not more so than Angkor Wat. Truly an awesome video. I can tell you really loved your time there and I totally get what you meant at the end of the video about the sensory overload. My first trip to Japan was a mere 6 days and even though I had a good plan for seeing as much as possible, once I got back home, that feeling of needing to go back came on strong. Considering I am scared of flying, the fact that I went to Japan 7 times really drives home the point of how important a place it is to me.

great video, it was wonderful to see you visit all these awe inspiring temples, my answer to the last question is gwrych castle, gwrych castle is a 19th century folly located in north wales near where my grandparents live, it is wonderful and their is so much to see there, its now derelict and isnt open to the public but there is public rights of way throughout the grounds and formal garden ruins and i love visiting time and time again because i always see something new.

YOU ASK what is the one place I go back in thoughts over and over. It is for me San Miguel de Allende la gruta thermal springs. It is not much in terms of things to see but it is so so peaceful and the hot springs just makes me feel so relaxed that I go back thinking about it and it relaxes me. I try to get there twice a year - it is a quiet peaceful town with not much to do and that is why it is special. It allows me to relax.

I once saw a program that compared the foot print of Angkor Wat, The Great Pyramids and some other complexes around the world. From an arial view they all seem to represent the positioning of Orion's Belt and certain star configurations. As well as the positioning of the complexes in relation to the cardinal points. It is a stunning complex, but I wish more of the structures and iconography survived in better shape.

Just finished watching the video. It brought back great, fresh memories of the five days my family and I spent in Siem Reap in Dec '13. Like you, we toured Angkor Archaeological Park over three days. Thanks Globetrotter. This was filmed in January 2014 on our recent trip. It was a great time and I'd love to go back and do more. As for the music - That's going to be a little difficult. I use Smart Sound to do a lot of my scoring. Each section had two or more tracks from some 20 albums I have. Plus, with Smart Sound you can choose variations and moods, and I spent some time tailoring each. So "World Groove" appears three different times, but I composed it three different ways, so it sounds different each time.

Well done, Mrs. WE are going to visit Angkor Watt in about 18 days. By the way, did you use iPhone or DLR camera or Video Camera to shoot this? Seems pretty study footage. Did you edit very much? Steve I did Angkor Wat back in January of 2007 it was the best time of my life. I also did Seoul South Korea and had a blast as well. The only thing I wish I could have had with me is my sony nex5n and my Gopro hero 3+ black because I would have got tons more videos and pics. By the way you remind me of Walter white from breaking bad.

Quick question, not sure if I understand that first 'tip' with getting the ticket on the evening before .. you mean the 3day ticket? and you already can use it that day, so you basically get 3.5 days ? or you get an extra 1 day ticket? essentially a 3.25 day ticket. since you only get in for sunset. They sell 1, 3, and 7-day tickets.
