I'm glad to hear you plan to visit! It's a worthwhile day trip. If you have time, visit the small mining town of Superior, AZ, just 4 miles from the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. I recommend the Jade Grill for lunch and then check out the Main Street, taking a look inside the historic Hotel Magma. Right?! Those clusters of big barrel cactus were awesome. Thanks for reaching out. I hope you have a chance to visit, and if you do, the garden sells a large selection of cacti at the entrance.
