I'm glad to hear you plan to visit! It's a worthwhile day trip. If you have time, visit the small mining town of Superior, AZ, just 4 miles from the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. I recommend the Jade Grill for lunch and then check out the Main Street, taking a look inside the historic Hotel Magma.
