Hey Tim, Yeah.. Surfing season starts around July up to Sept. Great offshore winds and good size waves. The two breaks out in front of Ikani are Vista, to the left looking out. and Heartbreak to the right of Ikani. Both have nice lefts. which is a rarity here in the Phils. I went for a week back in August 2023 with my GF. very laid back. scored 2 days of waves... about waist high to maybe chest on a few. We stayed at a little place which rented us a room for 1000 pesos a night. was comfortable with an AC.. and wifi, and a big shared kitchen area so we cooked a bit. Akani seems nice. but for 5K a night. not worth it. the food there was good tho. I stayed 5 nights just a 5 min walk down the road for 5 nights for the price of one night at Ikani. if you make it down towards Angeles let me know.. like to meet up with you... I used to live in San Juan La Union.. we talked on whatsApp back during the great sickness. I was in quarantine Hell in some manila hotel. you called to see if i was alright.. later, mark and claire

@RDLACHICA8 ай бұрын
Tim, around 2018 if I remember right, the provincial Environment office ordered a shutdown of resorts for violating the law. It would seem they built "foreshore" structures contrary to existing laws. Hannah's Resort was one of these. The owner reportedly did not want to take down the structures and statues. He passed on around that time. He was known as the Architect of Pagudpud tourism, transforming the area into a tourism haven by establishing the first resort and convention center named after her daughter. He was a retired Air Force Colonel.

I had an oceanfront duplex in La Union. I rode a Kawasaki Dominar 400 motorcycle which I left in the Phils from La Union though out the Phillippines. I rode down Luzon then the islands of Samar, leyte, Cebu, Mactan, Bohol, Panglao, siquijor, Negros, Panay. Maybe 60 or more places, But I wish I would have done the northern loop of Luzon. I recorded some of it but just too much work for me to edit and produce videos. I am retired and you tube is a job haha.

Hi Tim. I really enjoy your channel, and also Chrissy's and Hannah's. I do have one question. I have watched previous episodes where you have commented on the not so great state of infrastructure in the Philippines it's obvious that you don't like the windmills to generate electricity. I was wondering what other options do they have? Especially in the beautiful remote areas that you explore. This is not a criticism, just an honest question because I am curious. Thank you and keep up the great work.
@peterbrittain19638 ай бұрын
actually, wind turbines are a total fraud,, they use mains power to turn and any power they do generate is unstable ( voltage high and low ) and can not be used by a power station.. just look at a wind mill ( that is actually powered by wind ) and compare it to a 3 blade turbine.. you have to destroy forrest to install the turbines ,, i wish more people would look into how usless these turbines actually are.. in australia they are destroying bush land for turbine blade dumps as nothing can be recycled from fibreglass.. you can google all those facts...

Ohh Tim, what are you doing to that old lady at 1:52, the magnet costs only 35 pesos, you give her 50 pesos and you even take back the change? In these situations where such a person has just the thingy I need I would just give 100 pesos and let her keep the change. Life can already be hard enough there for the locals.

Been there today and it was very nice and calm sea water. Went to eat at the Blue Lagoon inn along with my wife and brother in law and his wife whom are on visit from Norway. The truth was that we were quite hungry and then ordered a dish of prawns in butter and blue marlin sinigang. Stated godd for 3 to 4 persons, but portions more like 2 persons! The fish had bones! And the the prawns were not well cooked. So, will not go and eat there again. Ambiens was just ok. No tourist to be seen neither from abroad or nationals. Beautiful place, but abandoned by people. It is rainy season and midweek.
