In the eighties I was in Wirrabarra South Australia. The tip had a huge collection of cars going back to the forties. We stopped and grabbed some parts. We went back to get some more parts and they'd dug a huge hole and Bulldozed the lot into it Mainline Utes, FJ, 48-215, EK, XM, XP, FC and more Basically a huge amount of hard to get Utes and Sedans

In Western Australia if you leave a car on the road too long, it will quickly get a sticker. " This vehicle has been reported " In Subiaco the city will ask you to move even outside your house. It seems to lower the tone of the area.

I saw stuff like this in Cairo Egypt when I was there in the early 80's, the only difference was that this type of vehicle was being driven day in day out. They drive vehicles that would only be fit for crushing here. The problem in Oz is that if your car has a very minor impact but it's enough to set off the airbags then it's a writeoff.
@CallMeGabbert7 ай бұрын
I can tell you why they can leave the cars on the street, all of these businesses have trade plates registered to the business and the premises. You are allowed to have/park and drive cars within 100 meters of the registered address without the trade plate on the vehicle. So I would say the majority are not breaking the law. Great loophole for car wreckers

Just FYI, those Ford Rangers that were ‘dumped’ at the old manufacturing plant are actually engineering/evaluation vehicles that are there because that’s Ford head office and the home of Design and Engineering. Not dumped at all. Even the ones with cobwebs. Once they’re not required, they’ll be disposed of appropriately. But totally agree with all the dumped vehicles on the streets even though they belong to the car dismantlers. Horrible look.
