Iraq is doing extremely well now 😊 The economy is doing very good the poverty rate went from 40% to just 15% in 2 years Now its extremely safe even safer than the us Iraq went from the 121th place for the safest country in the world in 2022 to the 66th place this year ❤ And their is crazy amounts of constructions every where Bridges, hospitals, air ports , ports , streets , skyscrapers, malls , hypermarkets , thousands and thousands of modren schools and universities , new entire mega cities , libraries and every thing it looks entirely different than 2 years ago Its unbelievable fr The current government is extremely good and doing very well Hope you can visit it soon ❤

I flew over the city of Baghdad from Dubai to Lisbon. The city just felt surreal to see, almost felt like seeing a home even though I have no Arabic roots and grew up christian in the pacific. I feel I need to visit this place, I've always been attracted spiritually to the middle east and the Arabic people. Thanks for the the great video!

This Iraqi girl is adorable you can tell she was nervous at first about her English and being filmed but once she got a little more comfortable and talkative she became even more appealing. She is really cute and I think she would be a great bridge to help US civilians bridge the gap from East to west. Embrace this relationship with her. you are a great host..very real and humble! I've literally spent this entire Saturday evening watching all your videos about Iraq, from Basra in the south to the Marshes, Karbala, Bagdad, Samarra, Erbil, and all the way to Mosul in the north. You brought a big smile to my face many times, especially when you were invited to lunch by this sweet family in Samarra. Your guides did a great job and Safa was so sweet showing you the nice and family-friendly atmosphere of Bagdad at night. I myself am Iraqi, left the country as a 10 years old kid during the gulf war. Been living for nearly 30 years in Sweden + Norway and visited Iraq twice during those 30 years and I must say that you are an incredible content creator. You captured and brought forward the true essence of Iraq and its generous people in your videos. Iraqis should be the synonym word for hospitality and generosity. I think that you handled yourself perfectly in your interaction with all the different people no matter their age and there was no one single awkward moment in your videos. I was stationed there in 2008 in the US Army. Military police company. We weren't the guys kicking in doors and stuff. We patrolled the streets and trained the Iraqi police. It looks SO different now compared to then. I'm so happy that it is returning to prosperity!

Iraq was always beautiful btw... In the 70s Iraq was so advanced compared to the rest of the region.. If only it wasn't for the US invasion and its consequences..

@@Yasmin-jt1ux Iraq was certainly ahead of the other countries in the ME in the 1970s but is a bit simplistic to attribute its current situation to the 2003 war with the US. As Doug discusses in the video there was the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s - disastrous for both countries. Then the Kuwait invasion, sanctions in the 1990s. Then 2003 and all the consequences that followed. Meanwhile countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia peacefully developed with steady funds from the sale of oil and gas. Iraq has to play catch up quickly because petroleum will decline in value as a resource in the coming years.
