Exploring Beautiful Northern Thailand - MUST SEE PLACES IN PAI, THAILAND
Today we are hopping on a mini-bus and making the winding 3 hour journey from Chiang Mai to Pai, Thailand. Pai is well known for being a laid back destination full of hot springs, waterfalls, and amazing views.
We rented a scooter as soon as we made it into town and made our way up to our AirBnB. We stayed a few minutes outside of town, at a place called The Lookout, and it definitely lived up to it’s name!
For our first few days in Pai we enjoyed some time relaxing by the pool at Phu Pai Art Resort. The location is beautifully set over looking the rice paddy fields and mountains.
We also took an early morning scooter ride to the Sai Ngam Hot Springs. It is a quaint area with a small cluster of thermal baths shaded by trees. We went early and practically had the place to ourselves and a few locals.
Another spot we would recommend is the Bamboo Bridge. It is an 800 - meter long bridge that stretches over lush rice fields. We recommend bringing water because while the bridge has some spots that offer shade it gets very HOT!

If you go to Pai, you should go straight to Ban Ja Bo homestay and Ban Rak Thai resort too, very beautiful view of mountain, lovely hill tribe living community and architecture. It s the hi-light of Mae Hong Son. About few hours driving from Pai. Dont miss eating the balcony noodle at Ban Ja Bo view point.

Thanks for all the suggestions for northern Thailand. Definitely on my list. What time of year did you go? Also as a solo female traveller how difficult would it be to drive a scooter as someone who has never driven a motorcycle 😊

Hi Loretta! We were in Thailand in November and the weather was hot but reasonable. Tommy has experience driving a motorcycle so he never had an issue. I tried once and it was ok but I was so nervous, I definitely think it is a matter of confidence (not skill) you can practice on some quieter roads before taking a longer trip. Thanks for watching !

Hi Loretta, driving a scooter itself is very easy. However, driving in Thailand in general is regarded as dangerous. It has one of the highest fatality rates in the world. If you drive slowly you should be ok though.

I know it's bad to dump on people but this video must have been made before Covid. I live in Chiang Mai and I was at Mor Paeng waterfall and the Bamboo Bridge place only two weeks ago. Sure, they are still there, but the infrastructure is nowhere near the same standard after 2 years of no upkeep.

I found this ''Waterfall'' sites a bit of a rip off though they are not expensive. Most of these ''Waterfalls'' in the west are free to visit. I understand that Thailand is a poor country and they are trying to make a buck out of everything but it's kind of putting especially when these waterfalls are not that spectacular.
