I was born and raised in Orange, we used to pick up my aunt, who would travel from Houston, at that train depot. A lot of history in this small town. My grandfather started a sandwich shop during the depression years called the "Whangdoodle," he sold many a sandwich during that time.

Funny, I stay in Orange, while I'm working in the area, I never knew how beautiful it was here, just liked the location better that Beaumont, and to see you going back to the TX Hill Country, where my home is, on other episodes, is amazing as well. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome ending. The perfect cliff KZbin lingo you never know when it's going to end until it does. Probably comes from the word cliffhanger. It's great for getting people to watch to the end

I've always seen historical plaques mounted on granite slabs. Never seen them mounted on gravel & wire mesh before.

Have you ever done any research on Corpus Christi. After Texas won its independence from Mexico forgive me I can't come up with the names right off the top of my head but the US government sent protection to protect Corpus Christi which was south of the Nueces River. Two of the officers became US presidents. Santa Ana was only supposed to retreat to the Nueces River he went all the way to the Rio Grande changing the Texas map forever. The famous T heads were made by building a rock barrier which is now the marina an empty part of the Bay to build the marina and Seawall. From Water Street Ocean Drive dirt with padded much of the natural Bluff remain south of there protecting Corpus Christi from storm surge. The first US Federal Cemetery in the state of Texas what's in Corpus Christi before it was a u.s. state. A military boiler ship blew up somewhere off the coast of Ingleside and they buried them at the graveyard in Corpus Christi. I don't know Federal Cemetery predated the regular Cemetery or not.

One of the presidents was Zachary Taylor. There's a historical marker for him down that way. The ship that exploded was the steamship Dayton. There's a historical marker for that incident in Old Bayview Cemetery.
