Exploring Burns Canyon 2n02 on New Years Day! | How to Avoid Big Bear Traffic

On New Year's Day, Nipoj from 41.22 and Jared from the Average Overlander podcast invited me on a trip up to Big Bear via Burns Canyon Trail. We were all excited for the adventure that lay ahead and knew it would be a great way to start the new year. Despite the cold weather, we were all in good spirits and looking forward to reaching our destination. It was shaping up to be a fun and exciting trip, and we couldn't wait to see what the rest of the day had in store for us.

Next time you head up that trail you should try the 2N70Y off shoot! Its only a mile long but a cool loop that takes you back to 2N02

Awesome video! How’s the difficulty level? Thinking of taking some Subaru foresters though this route. Think they’d be ok through this?

On our previous trip we have a rav4 and a subaru crosstrek with us. On a regular road, you should be fine but not sure with the current weather.

Nice video! This route is currently under attack by several of the (NEW) local residents with money. You know, the ones who move in & want to claim the area as their community, saying the road is private. It IS NOT a private road! The beginning is Burns Canyon Rd (BLM RC1430) and is a GREEN STICKER ROUTE! till it hits US Forest (2N02) This was a wagon road in the 1800s from Big Bear to Rose Mine & on to Warren's well (yucca valley) The recent storms have caused some rocks to block 2N02 and the ass's that are wanting to close it are useing this as firepower. Any jeep clubs/ offroaders that have a decent rig & means to winch need to get up & help clear the way IF you want to keep this route? Its a beautiful day trip & camping area. DO NOT ALLOW THESE environmental terrorists to lock you out!! Or hardass you if your up there, its your FULL Legal right to be.
