You forgot to mention a crucial part of the whole story about the caste! The castle is completely renewed by the Agrokomerc in 1990s. Before the renovation the old town was just a stoney skeleton construction. So the fact that you stated that construction that caught on fire is 200+ years old is not correct. I have the whole video with the explanation my KZbin channel

Thanks for your comment! Good to know, I will check out your video soon. Are there any photos of Stari Grad from before 1990s?
@arijanjelenovic417 Жыл бұрын
@@BenTheRules absolutely there are photos. I can email them to you l, and I show some in the video. The whole concept of the old town and the reason why it was built/renovated was to help with education of managers in tourism industry which Agrokomerc was a big part of, with Hotels that it owned on Adriatic coast. At the end of the war in 1995. The place had 7,5 million € worth of furniture alone and people that own it today stole all of it. Funny thing…the guy at the end of the video has been running the place since the end of the war and hasn’t been paying the utility bills and investing in maintenance which is the reason why it caught on fire

I used to bike to that castle often in 2004-2005. It's cool to see the area again after so many years.

It's a really cool area, I hope to go back again soon. Thanks for watching :)

Part of "Turkish Croatia" ( Ottoman Turkish occupied Croatia).
@BenTheRules Жыл бұрын
Velika Kladusa you mean?
@northernstar4811 Жыл бұрын
@@BenTheRules Yes, that whole area including the town of Bihac ( part of "Habsburg Croatia") and including territories further west. The town of Bihac was captured by the Ottoman Turks in 1592 AD (the siege of Bihać in 1592). Austrian cartographer Franz J.J. von Reilly included "Turkish Croatia" ("Türkisch Kroatien") meaning Turkish occupied Croatia, in his map of 1791 AD, this area is part of Western Bosnia today.

@@northernstar4811 Very interesting, back in those times cities were changing hands like it was nothing. The influence from both the Austro-Hungarian and Ottomans is clear, especially in the architecture (with a little bit of communist brutalism mixed in 😉). Thanks for your comments!

@@Bosniak803 Nope! You are dead wrong. I recently lost a pro-Russian friend when I told her I thought we should bomb the "f" out the Kremlin and put the "b"s out of their misery. I hate war, but when a bully invades your country, you have no choice but fight back. I hope we continue to support Ukraine until victory is gained over the forces of imperialism.
