Come to Croatia Zagorje and tey to anderstand it. I Live my whole life and can't understand shit kids who I went to school with, coz they live 15 km away. Croatia is very diverse in dialects, every Idland have its own dialect, even thou theres 1000 ppl speaking it. Our Official language is more of comon language that educated ppl should be professionaly speaking. But still id does have a lot of comon that makes it different from Serbian and overlap 95% with with minor exceptions.

Svaka čast! As a European who lives in the US, but at home speaks German-Italian-Bos/Hrv/Srb, I can tell that you don't deserve the negative comments "You're just an American." I fact, I am impressed with your language skills, you are great. The only "typical USA-thing" you did in the video is the fact that, at 15:15 you said that you come from America, and the locals asked you "ma da quale America? ("but from which America?"). I always found it hilarious when people from the US think of US = America. That would the same as Croatians saying that only Croatia is Europe, or Italians saying that only Italy is the EU. In ogni caso, tvoji videi su stvarno dobri. Bravo!

Interesting how the language developed and accepted words from the environment. Many say that it resembles the languages spoken in Istria, but to me it seems like a completely independent language of the people who lived in Dalmatia, the forerunner of Srpsko-Hrvatski with adverbs taken from Italian. Its structure is similar to the language spoken by people who went to work in Germany in the 1970s from the former Yugoslavia. They kept the grammar and took over the words. This is exactly what the example shows: 'Za sad siduć' 'Za sad' is a shortened form of 'Za sada' in the sense of For now and the 'siduć' verb - to sit. Permanent form 'sedeći' - sitting in the Dalmatian variant 'sidići' to be Italianized into 'siduć' (as shortened forms that commonly appear in the Italian dialects of Molise and Abruzzo) I think that 'our language' could be an excellent basis for learning Croatian or Serbian.

Piece of Italian-Istrian history HELLO! I would like to share with you an incredible story that has its roots in a remote past. I hope you have time so I can tell you everything. My story that I have not published yet: Four years before the birth of Jesus, a member of the Marguglio family, accompanied by 30 ships of armed and trained Istrian pirates, known as Histriones, participated in the conquest of the riches of the Mediterranean. The Histriones are a prehistoric people who inhabited today's Istria. I think that the Histri came to these areas from the countries of North Africa and developed a strong people, capable of distinguishing themselves with an army that defended Istria, but who also had a very dangerous naval fleet, which conquered riches throughout the Mediterranean. The first Marguglio does not yet have a name because I have not yet gone to the registry office, but I am sure that the surname dates back to very ancient times. There were certainly some Istrians in this family. During World War II, Antonio Marguglio was drafted into the army and served in Istria, where he had a relationship with Nevenka Brnčić. It was 1943, Mussolini capitulated and Nevenka managed to hide Antonio from the communist purges. Antonio managed to go to Italy, while Nevenka remained with her numerous siblings who were still young and needed help. In 1948, or perhaps even in 1947, Antonio looked for a way to transfer Nevenka to Italy and from these events, in 1948, Vesna was born. During her escape attempt, Nevenka was caught and imprisoned and, when Vesna was born, she was sent to a nursery in Cres. Nevenka was not accepted into the family, but continued to help until her father died in 1960. Then her brothers kicked her out of the house. She spent her time in the forest picking asparagus and selling it to make wreaths in a flower shop in Rijeka, Brajda, run by a dear Rijeka woman. Nevenka met Antonio again, probably in Trieste in late 1960, where they worked on a plan to extract Vesna. For this reason Nevenka returned, but was arrested and could not escape. She was probably helped by the famous politician Dragutin Haramija, who filled her with communist doctrine, brainwashed her and she accepted communism because she saw it as a way out of her terrible situation. When the communists verified her suitability, they advised her to keep quiet about everything and continue her life with children Vesna and Silvano in Rijeka. Where does Silvano come from, how was he born and who created him? In late 1960 Nevenka was in Trieste with Antonio and on August 20, 1961 she gave birth to Silvano. She gave birth to me but had no place to live with me, no home (thanks to her dear sister and her greedy husband), who reported her with the intention of prohibiting her from returning home. The price of her love that she felt for Antonio Marguglio was high. So she remained in prison until the Communist Party of Yugoslavia decided to assign her an apartment, but on the condition that she did not tell anyone the truth, not even me. Praying to God he revealed to me many other things, which I want to share with you, God bless you, Amen The Marguglio family gathers together as a large and historically significant family. Old Croatian words exist amongst them Slovenians also have old Croatian words that they utilise If you went to some Croatian islands they would be different variations of Croatian mixed with Italian less or more
