The most accurate video to guide us to clementi forest Thank you

Thank you Leeennn. I also explored Dover Forest. Though this is a small forest, I got lost and walked around in circles. Feeling not satisfied, I made another trip , 2 days later. We took a different path and had a better trip. I will post after I complete the editing. Thanks for watching my channel.

Thanks Uncle Chen for your great video! 🙏My friend and I almost lost the point of entry. While we feel lost, we look back to your video and found the important point "railings" in your video and turn left towards it. That makes us success all the way! We had fun yesterday and it makes my holiday meaningful and adventurous! Thanks again, uncle Chen for making it true! :)))

I’m glad that my video was helpful to you. I myself had difficulty finding the entry point. I traversed that stretch of the Green Corridor 4 times before I found the entry point.That led me to show it specifically in the video. I also made 2 hiking trips to Dover Forest, taking different routes each time. I’m in the process of editing them. Dover Forest is much smaller than Clementi Forest. But the chance of getting lost there is very high. The experience is very different from Clementi’s. Have fun.
Uncle Chen, I truly enjoy watching your video. Great production , hope to see you out there some day ! Happy new year.

Thank you for your kind comment, Desmond. I will be going to Dover Forest next. Hope to see you there. Better visit these nature places before they are cleared for housing.

@@CMChen yes I agree. I am a nature lover too and passionate trail runner . It’s sad that Singapore nature is diminishing and getting replace by urbanisation & man-made gardens. Do enjoy Dover forest while it’s last

@@desmondfung7886 I am an old trail runner too. Used to run at MacRitchie since the 1960s. I switched to riverside park running since I shifted to Sengkang this January as MacRitchie is now too far away. Do check out my KZbin channel on Great Wall Hiking when you are free. This place abounds with elephant ears plants, 2:35, 2:36 etc. They are priced ornamental plants now by gardeners. Forest provide negative ions which are good for our bodies. Never thought Singapore has forests. Maybe this is near Malaysian borders? And is the weather a little bit cooler because of trees?
@CMChen3 жыл бұрын
Clementi Forest has been earmarked for Residential Development in the future. Everything will be gone. No amount of man-made parks and gardens can match those created by Nature. The beautiful elephant ears plants will become history. It's so sad.

Hi Kelly. Glad that you successfully made the trip. I posted 2 videos on Dover Forest which might be of interest to you. I made a 3rd trip there to search again and positively identified the branch-off route to the 'Hideout' and Ulu Pandan Park Connector. PM me if you are like to have the directions. I also made an interesting hike to Bukit Batok Hillside Nature Park. This video will be posted on 25 Jun evening.

Kate, in order to answer your question, I made another trip with my wife and son to Clementi Forest. We took 1 hr 20 mins for this 2.8km hike. For 1st time hikers, give yourself up to 2 hrs as you may lose your way or spend a lot of time taking photos.

Thought the rail track is gone. Its good to have it till today as a marker
@CMChen Жыл бұрын
The railway track is a good marker. I hope they will keep this forest as it is. Dover Forest East is already cordoned up for bulldozing.
@JimNicholls3 жыл бұрын
You do very well to keep filming even when on very slippery or difficult parts of the track. I guess all the tracks you walk are slippery, as Singapore has so much rain. Sad to know that the forest will disappear.
@CMChen3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, the authorities has confirmed that part of the forest will indeed disappear. In a bid to soften the move, they will preserve parts of the forest and create 2 hiking trails there. As for me, I like the forest to be left as it is. Once deforested, it will never be the same again.
@JimNicholls3 жыл бұрын
@@CMChen I agree that most places are best left alone. When authorities make changes, they are seldom for the best.

Shirley, the route that I hiked should be the shortest route. People hiking from opposite Ngee Ann Poly will be walking along the stream and climb up to the path that I took.

I went again on a wet day with my wife and son. It's quite fun and challenging to slip and slide in the mud. You can wash you feet and shoes at a drain with fresh water as you exit the forest at Sunset Way. Bring hiking poles along. I bought mine at Beach Road food center where they sell army stuff and also at Mustafa Centre.
@Raj-me4iy3 жыл бұрын
Will be of great help. Especially when you mentioned taking the left track. Right leads to small river and the bus stop opposite Ngee Ann poly. That’s the shortest which takes 20mins

I will surely go again but not sure when. Why not try the trip yourself following my guide. Challenge yourself. Do wear long pants, bring extra dry clothings and slippers. You can wash your muddied booths at a flowing drain with clean water at the end of the trek at sunset way.

Very nice track there cheers fellow friend, anyone else being to Clementi Forest? and which camera stabilizer are you using very stable video there
@CMChen3 жыл бұрын
Clementi Forest hike is getting popular. More people are going there especially on weekends and public holidays. I used the iPhone 12 Pro Max handheld. Didn't use my Zhiyun gimbal cause the iPhone lens is wide-angle and the stabilizer arm will be in shot.

Hi sir, great video! Are you using a GoPro with a chest harness?
@CMChen3 жыл бұрын
I started the hike along the Green Corridor using iPhone 12 Pro Max with the Zhiyun Gimbal. The iPhone camera is wide angle and kept showing the gimbal arm in the shots. I ditched the gimbal and filmed hand-held the moment I went into the forest. You could see my feet and even my pants when I switched to the iPhone built in super wide angle for some of the shots. This was possible cos I filmed hand-held. Esther, are you a hiking enthusiast?
@easterpartyy3 жыл бұрын
@@CMChen thanks for sharing. I’m impressed with how smooth the footage is even when it’s hand-held! And yes, fellow nature enthusiast here :)

I did my track via Railway tunnel. Solo. My advice. Never do it alone. Half way through the track I spotted snake. At ending to green corridor spotted another one. Block my path. I waited for 10min before I make my dash. I have also tied tape markers for future tracker to guide them through the track. Muddy and slippery most of the path.

This must be a frightening experience for you. Bringing a hiking pole would be helpful for protection. Would you go solo again? I think you will.

I went with my 10 year old daughter last week. It is super muddy, quick sand type, shoe get stuck. Around 7:00 she could not continue anymore and I had to call for help. So young children especially those who are not very outdoor type should not go. Green corridor itself is fine. The forest has too many fallen branches and too muddy.
@CMChen3 жыл бұрын
Jon, I am sorry that you had to call for help. I brought a friend and his family on my 4th Clementi Forest trip recently. His daughter is in primary school and was enjoying the trip very much, climbing up the muddiest slopes she could find. I guess all children are different and we, parents have to make the right judgement.

You can make good money if your viewership is a hundred thousand or more per episode. I make videos out of passion. However, I do get a bit of income every month from KZbin. Your videos need to be above a thousand views for a start.
