I live in the Netherlands and have to shamefully admit i have never been to delft and its Churches. Now i see this video i guess i have to take the train this week to see them for myself. You showed the city beautifully!

While churches were important as places of worship, they had another function and its was basically advertising for the city to show how succesfull it was in order to attract more business. Perhaps a bit like modern day scyscrapers for large corporations.

Yes, that's crazy how much money they spent on building these massive structures for their ego!
