I wish you could still go in the caves. I went yesterday and It looked amazing.

Same! it would be so much fun to explore in there! Maybe they will open them again someday but I highly doubt it

Thank you for watching! I can't wait to return. I'd love to see it during summer.

One of our favorite state parks. I went here frequently as a kid and also go to explore the cave. Awesome campground for kids

Was in 4H during High School and we spent two summers staying at Devil's Den in the old CCC Barracas around 1960. Benn there many times but I never seen the waterfall that doesn't have a stream leaving it. Enjoyed your video. Now I live in flat Florida, miss the Ozarks.

Thank you for watching! Do you live near the beach in Florida? I would love to be near the beach but I think I would miss the mountains too.

I have been visiting the park for 27 years. The last time I was actually inside the Devil's Den Cave and the Devil's Ice Box were 20 years ago. I have some old literature from when you could go inside the caves. There was a section called "fat man's squeeze".

Way south of Devil's Den State Park, but I'm in Arkansas for the eclipse. (700 miles of driving with a crosswind blowing so hard I got a blister on one hand from death-gripping the steering wheel. Ack!) I plan to be in Mena or maybe Booneville for the eclipse, but Crater of Diamonds State Park is only about 50 miles out of my way. I might spend tomorrow there. Devil's Den looks real interesting, but that's a trip for another time.

Wow! What a trip!! Glad you're here though. It's going to be awesome!

@@AllAboutArkansasTravels It's so green here! :) Where I was at in New Mexico is still brown, and the trees are just starting to bud, but it's full-on spring in Arkansas. I had to skip Crater of Diamonds though. Traffic getting in there was backed up to the highway. Too busy for me.
@AllAboutArkansasTravels7 ай бұрын
@@jbennett3578 Yes! It's definitely green! And pollen everywhere! 😅 Are the highways getting backed up?
@jbennett35787 ай бұрын
@@AllAboutArkansasTravels I don't know what the traffic is usually like in this area, but it doesn't seem excessive. I'm at a rest area, hoping to stay the night, and the parking lot is almost empty. Please, Arkansas, I just need 24 hours. Don't kick me out like you did during COVID. 😥
@jbennett35787 ай бұрын
@@AllAboutArkansasTravels Back in Texas now. There was a lot of traffic on Highway 71 after the eclipse, mostly northbound, but no serious slowdowns. Watched the eclipse with a bunch of friendly Arkansans at the Elm Park rest area. The trip took me about 550 miles out of my way and cost about $220 in extra fuel. Worth. Every. Penny.

Would love to camp and explore that park. What campsite would you recommend for privacy?
@AllAboutArkansasTravels7 ай бұрын
We didn't camp. We stayed at the Beard and Lady Inn in Chester. We did drive through the campground and all of it looked beautiful but I can't recommend a specific site. None of them looked more private than the others though.

@@AllAboutArkansasTravels ok I got confused about the episode. I didn’t realize it was the same time period as the episode at the inn

@@jrcriner6542 The camper cabins there look AMAZING and they are in a great location. I'd like to try one sometime.
