We made a very insightful journey to the famous "Duppy Church" in Mile Gully Manchester Jamaican. A Place steeped in folklore and local legends of late night church services in the abandoned church building surrounded by a ancestral graveyard with graves clearly dating back nearly two hundred years. filmed on Location in Mandeville Jamaica For TreeALife Television Network and Seala Media. blissful thanks to Bro. We can see how perfect it is without tampering by modern hands, the power and creativity of the site is evident. If Jamaica decides to 'renovate, restore etc', please only let deeply spiritual people and descendants of the ancestors buried there be involved. Be wary of organizations like UNESCO and many others.

Blessed love , guidance and maximum respect Ras. Suh ear wah nuh ,first , nuff nuff big ups fi how di I dem present dem selves, mek mi proud as a Jamaican. Suh,from here suh mi a go jus run di henglish ,zeen,Bless. The word duppy and the belief has never been a fear for me from childhood days,my uncle slept on tombs just to be safe,his saying was "I fear the living not the dead". My religious upbringing was also different, my uncle was a Ras(when Rasta was looked down on). He was a well educated man ,but a disappointment to his father (my grandpa) for being a Rasta. I/We don't believe in crosses but do believe in the superior being, God. With all that being said ,I do admire and believe in preserving our Island and its culture histories,where many of our roots came from. Also,restoring an historical site/bldg such as this could also benefit the community. Your presentation was straight and informative, well spoken, properly delivered and autical. Wonderful informative video. History is so important in this fast life. We have a lot of these churches in Scotland that look so identical. History is rich, John Clarke’s stone looks refurbished which means he might have been important. Masonry and stone work has been apart of us since the beginning of our time.
