I lived raised in Bensonhurst next door to Bay Ridge. If you lived in Bensonhurst you became a cop or a Wise Guy.

At 4:41 that Super Wash building was my cousin's Esso (later Exxon) gas station. Hung out in that station in the mid 60's. 71st street exit was my stop coming home from working in Manhattan in the mid 1960's.... Great memories..

13th Avenue is actually the very last section of the area to still have the true Little Italy community with the high concentrations of Italian businesses and residents while the surrounding areas like Bensonhurst, Gravesend, and Bath Beach are much more culturally diverse with Chinese, Russians, other Eastern Europeans, Arab Muslims, Mexicans, and Italians.

My old hood… I moved from avenue u and west 9th to 13th ave and 69th when j was still young in the mid to later 80s Used to be such a nice neighborhood… but these days it has changed quite a bit…
