How about the German "Christmas" Classic "Felidae" ? It's been always shown on Christmas here in Germany back in the 1990s, despite not really being a Christmas Movie. For those who don't know about Felidae, think Plague Dogs in Tone and Disney Story but with the typical German "Dark Children Stories" it's a classic Disney-Style 2D Cartoon but really dark and gritty and even gorey, yet meant for Kids back when it came out. Gave me and everyone i know Nightmares for Days and Weeks. The Story how and why it was made is very interesting and definitely would be worth an "Exploring Episode".( It's based on a Book by a Turkish-German Writer and had insane Success all over Europe which nobody expected. I know it's not well known in the USA so not sure how much Interest there is but i'm sure some Americans know about it thanks to the Internet. If you haven't seen Felidae but like the original German Fairytales before Disney chopped all the darker and brutal parts out of the Original Stories and wanna find out what kind of Cartoon was shown with "Age 6+" in 1990s Germany around Christmas Time, definitely watch it! Thanks, Cecil, for another terrific Exploring episode. Your research is always so thorough and proof there is always a story behind the making of any film. I remember that Thanksgiving in 2002, which had such a full slate of films, and I was traveling out of town for the holiday. I remember seeing "Treasure Planet" at a small-town theater and when I got back home (and back to work), I went with a friend one weeknight to see "Extreme Ops". "Eight Crazy Nights" turned out to be the one film I didn't see in theaters that holiday. I saw it much later on VHS rental. When I finally saw the film, I was probably just as surprised and disturbed as anyone else. However, the animation was so good, and it felt like a very personal film for Adam Sandler. While I am not Jewish myself, I thought it was a wonderful thing for Sandler to make a Hanukkah holiday film. I also knew that some of the belly laughs I had were okay, since Adam Sandler wanted everyone to laugh, whether the audience was Jewish or not. It's too bad the film didn't do better in the box office, and I certainly missed out on some much-needed holiday laughs that Thanksgiving.

My GODS, I loved The Maxx and The Head back in the day! Also, I don't care how crappy many of Adam Sandler's later films were, _Billy Madison_ and _Happy Gilmore_ are two of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Funny story: I was in grad school when _Happy Gilmore_ came out. There was this girl, Sue, who...well, I couldn't tell if she had a thing for me or what--I was completely clueless when it came to women. But one day when I was working at the word processing lab, she was hanging out, talking to me, and mentioned that she wanted to see the new Adam Sandler flick. I'd LOVED _Billy Madison_ so I said: "Yo, you want to hit the theatre this weekend?" She said yes! So we went to the film...and I was laughing so hard at the scene in which two old guys are talking while behind them Happy's constantly-bleeped-out tirade is playing on a TV that I STARTED FARTING UNCONTROLLABLY. That just made me laugh even harder, and by then I was kicking the seat in front of me, howling like a damn hyena, and I even fell into the aisle. I swear to god I am not exaggerating. Not even a little. Sue just sat next to me absolutely MORTIFIED. Never saw her again after that. I still laugh just as hard at that scene to this day...but, fortunately, the uncontrollable flatulence doesn't happen anymore. Most of the time, anyway.

Looney Tunes Cartoons made 81 shorts before they end it but making a big comeback traditional animated film next year also Genndy Tartakovsky's Fixed, Sony's new R-Rated animated film. It's said that the reason the Kingdom Hearts show was cancelled was because series creator Tetsuya Nomura didn't want there to be two different continuities for the same material and confuse people. This is despite the fact that the Kingdom Hearts manga exists, adapting nearly every game in the series while changing stuff like comedic subplots and the lack of Halloween Town (I assume this is due to another manga publisher owning the rights to Nightmare Before Christmas). Nomura is kinda a hypocrite.

The People Telling Him to get on another project before the movie came out reminds me of how Walter Hill mentioned he was lucky he was already in production on The Warriors at the time The Driver opened because if he hadn't the flop of the movie would have killed his directorial career.

Yeah, a lot of directors/actors and what not try to have jobs lined up in case they have a flop. So many have more or less been ousted from the industry because it is insanely fickle.

I learned about this movie a few weeks ago when I scrolled through Tubi, I watched it right after your review. What an odd, vulgar and weird movie but for some reason it has it's heart in the right spot!✌️☺️
