What a fab campsite and a lovely village. And that old pub! Some campsites could learn lessons from that one. I didn’t realise Essex was so nice. Pity it's 500 miles from me but maybe one day........ Thanks for that lovely little walk, and such a great pub..my Granda taught me about oak galls when I was tiny and following him round the lanes..tho we called them oak apples..still pick them when I find them..😊

He wasn’t wrong there there is a gall called an oak apple it’s slightly different to the marble gall bit more spongy, there are hundreds of different ones I’ve got a great book on them and it’s a thick book! I think the Robins Pincushion is my favourite on dog rose or spangle galls just because I loved the spangle sweets from years ago lol 😂 x 🤗❤️

Me too. As a child we always called in The Air Balloon Gloucester. Great memories. However I think it was last year they demolished the very old pub for a roundabout. How on earth could that happen to an ancient historical building. I cried 🎉
