Fun fact The highway you are referring to is called the PAN American highway. It runs from Alaska all the way to Argentina.It is 30,000km long (19,000 miles). However, it does not cross between Panama and Columbia. And that is called the Darien gap.

Finally you visited my hometown Esteli , next time you take the Expreso Bus to Esteli , the last one leaves around 3 pm or so , it's like Shuttle Bus from Leon's Bus terminal , and the bus fare is like 100 some cordobas but takes you straight and faster than if you take a chicken bus and transfer to another bus , it'll take you longer to get to Esteli and back to Leon , you passed by Cafe Don Luis , that's an Expat hangout , pretty good food and coffee , the owner I Believe it's Cuban , and it's only 1 block away from my House , there's an Italian Restaurant in front of my house owned by a a childhood friend of mine , you also passed by my School , Colegio San Francisco ,(Catholic private school ) it's run by Spaniards monks , you passed by Colegio de las Monjas (also private ) and the Municipal Mercado across the street , the Mall by the highway close to the Soccer Stadium has a Dollar tree inside , it's called Dollar Store , I don't know if there's one in Leon but in Managua there's several and Masaya there's one at the Paseo Mall , , Hope you visit again Esteli , next time try to visit La Montanita, it's nice up there overlooking Esteli , from up that Hill , you can take nice pics from up there , I hope you return again and spend more time in Esteli next time , thanks ! 👍👍

I know, right? It has taken me way too long to get up there and do some filming. I can't wait to get back and do more. Oh, there is an Expreso? That would be so much better. I'll try to do that next time. Do you know how long it typically takes? Yeah, I saw Cafe Don Luis. It looks like an expat hangout for sure. Looks really nice. Oh, good to know about La Montanita, I will check that out for sure. Thank you! Muchas gracias!

For sure, places like Matagalpa or Esteli definitely have big places like mine. Lots of them. Jinotega would be way more limited, but I bet you can find something there. There you might be a little more in a position of getting space and putting in a fence or wall yourself. Just a lot smaller and poorer of a city, but maybe up close to Apanas.

Real Estate in Esteli is expensive, because; it's one of the few places that produces high quality Tabacco for world class Cigars, plus production of other goods. On the other hand, Matagalpa produces great Coffee plus other things. Great video of Esteli.

Thank you! That one was fun for sure. I didn't even notice that I had walked and talked for an entire hour doing it! It was actually a problem as I had to get back for a meeting and we had walked so far away from the hotel. We were nearly jogging the entire way back to make it, lol. Several more (shorter, but still long) Esteli walking videos coming in the next few days. I love getting to do these in new locations. A new barrio is fun, but a whole new city with different architecture and everything is really exciting.

A number of years ago in Myrtle Creek Oregon, I had gone into get a sandwich. My dog, a Bloodhound, was in my Lincoln Town Car with windows down. Outside temperature was 66, in the car 68. A number of people inside wer calling the police. I told them he was just fine. Went out to my car and police read me the rior act. And there was a toddler in a van with winows up and no one was the least concerned about him.Bloodhounds nearly always have their tongues extende ears flapping as well. It is how and why they have the best of smell of any dog. Glad I don't have freaks like that living around me now. The ones calling police on me loaded with tattoos and piercings. To which I add, in any country if you have tattoos cover them. A friend of mine in Leon Nicaragua reported a home invasion. He had many tattoos and police took him in for photos and questioning. Indead he was a member of MS-13, in fact the #2 in Toronto Canada. He is in prison now after which he will be deported to the country of birth, El Salvador. Be sure to get a picture of the failed detonation 600 pound bomb in Esteli. Bought by Reagan to assist the Contras, with drug money to buy that Israeli made bomb brokered by Iran. US was convicted of 17 out of 21 charges of War Crimes in Nicaragua vs United States of America 1985 in the World Court of Criminal Justice in the Hague. That and the Panama Invasion was why I resigned my Commission and from the US Army in 1989. In Managua the hottest time of day is around 11 AM. after that you get a cool breeze of the lake.

@@ScottAlanMillerVlog I hear you talking about milk, how about buying it directly from the farmers? I lived in Managua since I was born until the age of 12 in my Barrio we had people coming from carretera Sur coming to sell fresh milk. Don't know how it is now since I only visited in 2012 and stood for 3 weeks, went to a lot of Cities I didn't know. Also almost at the end of the 1st week I got very sick due to the change of food, but luckily in Nicaragua my brother had a Doctor living next door he came to see me gave me 2 shots, sent my brother to get some pills from the RX & the next day woke up like new again.

To be honest with you, Esteli city is the laundromat of Nicaragua's government. Most of the big businesses out there belong to the very powerful people of the president, but other people run them... That's the reason you've seen a lot of development in that city.. esteli was chosen as a strategic place to money laundering from Drog trafficking...
@ScottAlanMillerVlog3 ай бұрын
That feels like an odd story. What drug trafficking? That's a weird story we hear from the US because Americans easily believe that there are lots of drugs here, but there aren't. And why would the have a "strategic city" for money laundering? That makes zero sense, that would defeat its own purpose. And why would the government launder money? It doesn't need to, it would only be hiding it from itself. That's weird. And we see relatively little development there, not as much as Leon, Matagalpa, Managua, etc. This sounds like one of those rumors that you get in Nicaragua a lot. Everyone repeats them, but no one knows the source and no one has a reference to it. But logically it seems pretty shaky. Governments laundering drug money, claiming that the Nicaraguan government is the arm of the CIA to help in funding their war on.... Nicaragua. It's not even a well thought out conspiracy theory. If you want to launder money, this isn't how you would do it. It's exactly how not to do it. And you wouldn't have the government secretly funding its own opposition.
