The Earth's magnetic field varies on many time scales, waxing and waning in strength, and periodically completely reversing direction. The geologic record of these variations provides important information on the history of our planet. Join Scripps Oceanography geoscientist Jeff Gee for a fascinating glimpse into his fieldwork in paleomagnetism -- from autonomous aircraft measurements over the open ocean to exploration of rock exposures in remote regions of Antarctica. Series: Perspectives on Ocean Science [8/2010] [Science] [Show ID: 19203]

A magnetic field reversal will also induce a geological pole shift, unlocking the crust from the mantle and allowing it to slide over the earth in a snap-like motion. Ever wonder how we've found flash-frozen wooly mammoths so well preserved we could identify their diet by what remained in their stomachs?

Would a core sample from the Central Washington Basalt Filds (4mi/6.4k thick) share a similar data set and shed more light on the subject?

I wondered that too, then had the question wondering if the electronics on the drone would affect the readings? They had GPS on the catapult plane, so …. I just have more questions!

The question is if we are so dependent for life through the magnetic field created by the molton iron core ,how did we get to the moon & back with no shielding but for a thin aluminium hull. Space is deadly or it is not?????????

Well, if we were to explore this would we ask about all things that are traveling outside the magnetic earth field? I don’t know the answer. Are there other things? Is the earths magnetic field surrounding the moon? You may already know the answers.

In reference to the chart @ 54:50 in this video, why is there no data for the Mediterranean Sea and other large bodies of water in this chart? Are we to assume there has been no research done in these areas or that there has been no or little activity there?

@28:14, there is a before and after shot of McMurdo. there are sailing ship in the foreground of what is now exposed ground. does this show that the oceanic level has dropped 30 ft during 1910 to 2006? (based on the size of the human figure in yellow at the base of the 2006 shot and the hull/mast heights in the 1910 shot vs the corrected height of the peak to the right. Either way, with or without my OCD measurements just eyeballing it you can see the ships would be stranded here, well and truly fuct.)

It’s just the end of a cycle,,we are now entering into another cycle (the age of Aquarius). your bibles kind of correlate it too,,entering the house with the man currying the pitcher of water,,,time keeping has been going on for a long time,past civilizations were not necessarily all stoneagers,,check out,Milankovitch cycles,,think how that might effect the rotation of the earths inner liquid ,,the currents,the turbulence,the eddies,,.I think the earths poles will stay within a a few degrees of the wobble and return and begin again

As the Maunder Minimum begins the solar wind is weakening. This means more gamma rays are hitting earth. Not sure what else is going on.
@MrKmanthie
@MrKmanthie 5 жыл бұрын
Dwight E Howell How exactly does a weakened solar wind increase gamma rays hitting the earth? Especially when said rays come from the solar wind (among a fraction of distant sources which are much fewer & farther between). So many people who make comments on You Tube write things about which they know little to nothing. This merely shows the high level of ignorance on the part of many YT-ers.

As earth has a magnetic field protecting us from radiation of the star, a)the star has the same properties on the galactic scale b)as solor wind speed /volume/ CME's reduces during the reversal there is less matter is present to filter/absorb GCR( Galactic cosmic rays)in coming from our galaxy and behond. C) just as earth redirects solor particals/energy around the planet , so dose the start this effect is directly related to the magnetic field strength. Reduce the field and there is less redirection of FOR. Theas reversal periods are were we find the most evidence of new species showing up(GCR's damage DNA sometimes the damage causes changes that are actually positive such as changing scales to feathers .

What you say sounds fantastic, however, nobody has been there ( to the core with instruments, or lived in a time before the time of supposed pole switch. They can only gather data and propose some stretch of a theory. A study of the scriptures is truly forming a far different picture that can be backed by true science.

Gzpo You're an IDIOT! ! ! This whole "electric universe" & thunderbolts" thing is silly, pseudoscientific bullshit. Merely a desperate grasp at thin air for morons who aren't able to understand "grown-up" science & mathematics.
@laural3738
@laural3738 5 жыл бұрын
@@MrKmanthie Yes. Its well known that electricity and magnetism don't change the weight of objects so they clearly have nothing to do with gravity. The electric universe is not a scientific theory because it's devoid of any scientific basis. Otherwise there would be equations describing the acceleration of falling bodies and the movements of celestial bodies based only on Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism. And there would be also many experiments that would be essential to build and prove such a pretentious theory. Electric universe pseudo-scientists did not even produce a single formula in many years nor did they ever run any experiments to see if their absurd affirmations found some evidence in reality.
