I have a lot of memories from Frankfurt. The club scene 30 years ago was great with the only Discotheque in an Airport in the world. I remember coming out of it at 5 AM and thousands of people are swirling around to catch planes;-) It also was the only McDonalds like 35 years ago that was open till 5AM and closed for 1 hour for cleaning, like it was 23/7...LOL. Sometimes, from where I grew up, we drove 2-3 hours just to get to that one McDonalds for a "Hamburger Royal TS", a Quarter Pounder with tomato and salad. Very fun times.

I highly recommend visiting "Würzburg". That's the place where my father went to study. The most amazing place is a medieval bridge on which people drink wine and you can look at the castle not too far away from there. The "residence" garden is really nice too. If you are interested in Japan, there's a museum from one of the early German explorers studying Japan.

In summer, cider mixed with sparkling water is a good refreshment. Of course, the sparkling water also reduces the alcohol content as it is not so acidic.

Hmmm süßgespritzt mit Fanta? Better watch out, that you don´t get stoned to death by Apfelwein enthusiasts! 🤣 Clear lemonade (Zitronensprudel) is used for süßgespritzt! Some innkeepers, who make their own Apfelwein, don´t serve süßgespritzt. When you order it, you get a glas of lemonade on the side to mix it yourself.

We have one of the oldest zoos in the world without having animals who are literally in small cells. Its called "Hagenbecks Tierpark". Its one of the greenest big cities in the world. We have many museums, musicals, clubs, parks, restaurants, big churches (one of the biggest churches got bombed in WW 2 and stayed untouched as a memorial ) and the harbour birthday. ps.: I hope my english is not to bad pps.: nice video, nice contend, nice channel

At first I heard "Spinat noodle"..and I thought "Whaaaat? That´s no "noodle/Nudel/pasta" it´s a "Knödel" with spinach ;-D... You have to pronounce the "K" of "Knödel" way more emphasized...it´s not an English word with that english silent "k" like "knee" or "knight" or "know"...."K"s are always clearly pronounced in German even when there is a following "N" after the "K". By the way ..the bread is not the filling because the bread is the dumpling/Knödel therefore it is the spinach which is the filling..there are bread dumplings with all kinds of different fillings and spinach is just one of those.... I personally prefer Spinach dumplings when the Spinach is fine shredded/short time blended so that it fully conjoins with the bread dough and the "spinach bread dumpling" is then green as a whole...for me that Spinach dumpling you got was made optically "totally loveless" not to say "done careless with haste" for a "restaurant meal"...from a professional cook/chef I expect way more. Take a quick look to see "How" Spinach dumplings should look like in my humble opinion in order to see what "the hack" I´m talking about. ;-D www.bergwelten.com/a/spinatknoedel-von-der-ravensburger-huette-in-vorarlberg

People in UK tend to pronounce the name Mark Knopfler with a silent K and I have wondered if that is correct. Mark is part Hungarian on his fathers side.
@michaelgrabner89772 жыл бұрын
@@Phiyedough His father was obviously Hungarian just by passport but his family on his father´s side clearly had to be of Austrian Ancestry because the name Knopfler is not a Hungarian name at all but a "German name" and it could be translated into the english name "Buttons"...a "Knopf" = "a button" for closing a shirt or skirt or trousers or clothing in general...and the name refers in German to the profession for making buttons.

Tiefgespritzt... more sparkling water, less apfelwein.
@stefan03252 жыл бұрын
Apfelwein is an acquired taste, no one likes it on their first try. Next time you're in the Frankfurt area, make sure to ask for a "Sauergespritzter", which is Apfelwein with sparkling water. Once you get used to that, you can switch over to pure Apfelwein, though many people in the region prefer the Sauergespritzter (including me). If you're ever in Frankfurt again, you can hit me up. I'm a U.S. Air Force vet who has German and American roots and I'm familiar with both cultures and the Frankfurt region.
