As an Indonesian who's been to several Indonesian restos in NL and few other countries, I must admit that the best Indonesian food outside Indonesia is in NL. It's probably because many restaurants in NL employ best Indonesian chefs. I was also told that Indonesian spices are relatively easy to find there.
@carlosliwang25183 жыл бұрын
Meh, weird enough its gotta be usa. Indonesian food in NL is kinda watered down. Its more indisch rather than indonesian. Also the variety in usa is better. More authentic jajanan are available in usa. And dubai also has authentic indonesian food.

My favourite food in Damsko is Surinamese food especially telo (spicy saltfish on fried cassava) and roti chicken or lamb...also I like kapsalon - an aluminium foil container of fries, doner meat, cheese and salad which can have up to 2000 calories...yes I know kapsalon originated in Rotterdam but they do them just as well in Amsterdam. I got good kapsalons for just 4 euros in de Baarsjes and surinamese food just about anywhere from 3 to 10 Euros (max). But these are both served in places where you rub shoulders with working class locals, most not white so erm not really hipster enough for anyone watching this lol

During this time another couple walked out and 2 other parties complained about the wait. The staff would only say that the kitchen was slow. If this is the case then do not keep seating people if you can't serve them. No Lekkerbek (deep fried fish fillet) or Kibbeling (smal pieces of deep fried fish)? Vietnamees spring rolls (a imported part of Dutch culture)? Soft rolls with cheese, or Filet American and hard boiled Egg, Veal liver and Salted beef (broodje halfom)? If a Dutchman invites you to dinner at his house and offers you Draadjesvlees en Rode kool, do go, its a real nice dish of a kind of Slow Cooked beef (like an Irish style corned beef) with red cabbage with Apples and potato mash, and when you are lucky, some pears boiled in port and cinemon. the reason that the sells herring in pieces in Amsterdam has to do with the poor population in the past. many people could not afford a whole herring but wanted to taste the delicious herring. clever herring sellers then decided to cut the herring into pieces. customers could then buy a whole and if they had less money they could also buy 1 or 2 pieces
@Eitner1003 жыл бұрын
Please skip the onions! Some sellers do hide the fish under cheap onions in order to hide the old and smelly herring. So buy the herring and demand the onions way on the side and preferably none at all. The onions destroy the fresh smell and taste of the herring.
