Today, I traveled to Guangxi, the home of the world famous Longji Rice Terraces. The scenery here was absolutely breathtaking and this location marked another box off of my China bucket list! My friend Katie and I had the most wonderful day learning about the history and culture of this area thanks to our wonderful tour guide, Tao. We also made friends with our hosts at the Baike Hotel who were so friendly and kind to us. If you have a chance to visit the area, I definitely recommend it! :)

I remember climbing to the hotel. We were tired so we had to pay for someone to help. A little old lady helped us to carry our suit cases. She was little but super strong. I felt so bad...

Allison, how much rice can the farmers plant to obtain a sustainable yield. It does not look too big an area for planting rice. Nevertheless brilliant drone footage of the padi fields as we call them in South East Asia. Looking forward to your journey around China.

@@AllisonPaigeAbroad We visited it back in 2007 and tried the Maglev (still the fastest passenger train in service 2022). My wife (guide and translator) told me its top speed was 350kph so when we reached 430kph, I thought it was malfunctioning and we were going to die 😅. She's a real practical joker sometimes 😊. Hope to visit it again with the kids.
