Exploring Guangzhou, China

It was my first time ever being in Asia; here’s part one of my Asia story.
We took a 16 hour flight from Toronto to Hong Kong, and then from there, we took a bus to Guangzhou for another 4 hours. Many hours of travelling, but it was all worth the wait. Here’s a taste of Guangzhou!

Hi I have a 14 hour layover in Guangzhou. Is there anything you can recommend me to see or do in a short amount of time with a low price lol?

I would definitely recommend going to the Canton Tower. If you don't want to go inside the tower, just take photos right outside the tower. The photos will be worth it, esp when it's just about to get dark out and the tower is lit up with colourful lights. Other than that, given such short period of time, I would just say eat as much as you can lol. I would highly recommend any one of those seafood restaurants that allow you to select shellfish live, and then have them cook whichever batch you chose. Def worth the experience. Hope this helped!

I'm super sorry, but I don't know the names of the places in English! I do remember that the majority of these restaurants are from the countryside, more so near the Guangzhou airport. Wish I have some names I can give to you :(

There is practically nothing of old historical interest to see! The Chinese dont value old buildings n heritage sites, so it is a huge disappointment knowing that its 1000 yrs of history has hardly anything to show of its antiquity! But the food n the colonial area of Shamin Island are fab!
