A lot has changed in two years. Would be great to get an update since this video was made. In that time, U.S. and NATO troops have been talking about mobilizing for general war against Russia. There's also been many Western contractors fighting on the side of the Ukrainians and many Chinese PLA veterans have joined the Russian military. Then we have the U.S. State Dept. floating the idea of sending Ukraine weaponry that will be used to conduct more strikes into Russia. That will mean Russia may be forced to take out staging areas inside NATO countries.

Really disappointed with the quality of the translation. It's not just very loosely translated. Some sentences are barely related to the original or even mean the opposite. Here's a few examples of what the correct translation should be. Please judge for yourselves. 1:06 Personally, I think it might be too harsh to describe it as an "invasion". 4:08 dispatched their armed forces 4:23 They aimed their guns and missiles at Russia's door 4:53 (second sentence) if we can sign a treaty then we'll try not to resort to violence. 5:06-5:20 We shouldn't step in because Ukraine provoked the situation in the first place. Russia has been provoked, but it has not been invaded. 5:53 but we can urge them to stop or share our views. 6:15 We won't send weapons to the battlefield (meaning they won't contribute to the war) 8:19 blatantly (not blindly) 9:02 to tackle intense situations 12:20 I hope that the US can stop meddling in issues like this in the future so that there can be world peace. 15:18 The US benefits from our conflict. (Literally: The US is watching the tigers fight(观虎). The Chinese saying 坐山观虎斗 "sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight" means to watch in safety whilst others fight then reap the rewards when both sides are exhausted) 16:45 no family can bear the pain of losing a loved one.

I love how Chinese view America as the ones provoking the situation. Countries like Ukraine, Kosovo, and Georgie have been begging Europe to join the EU and Nato. Its hilarious seeing the authoriatarian bootlickers try to blame other countries for fuckups. America is retarded, but at the very least had a coherent justification behind its invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. China seemed to want to invade Tibet, because apparently to free tibetan slaves, "Glorious mao zedong must arise from the heaven" and become the new tibetan slave masters. @@sowersass2 they are against it. You just won’t notice if you only pay attention to public speeches they give to audiences that include the international community, because they don’t like stirring up too much trouble. They don’t want a criticize an ally and they don’t want the USA to come out looking like the “good guys” because to China the US is a huge bully who always harass them and send agents to destabilize them and also use propaganda against them and even send scholars/diplomats to threaten countries that get close to China. So yeah it won’t be easy spotting overt words that reveal their thoughts on the invasion. You’ll have to interpret their words and position. They say they support territorial sovereignty, in which case it’s Russia violating that. They also see themselves in Ukraine’s position and the USA as Russia using a BS genocide (against Uyghurs or ethnic Russians) as the excuse to invade. In private I’ve heard people in CPC I know saying this invasion is a disaster (that being said the CPC is almost 100 million people, practically everyone is in or knows someone in the CPC so it’s not like it’s a monolith with one single opinion).

Some Chinese (the minority) stand on the side of Ukraine more than russia. 2) They think that China should not intervene. 3) Most of them blames NATO and US more. 4) The girl refers to Xi as winnie the pooh and gets away with it. This debunks the idea that winnie the pooh is a forbidden subject in China. No secret police is going to go after you if you say Xi is like winnie the pooh. 5) One guy wish that China will have leader like putin and says it will be interesting. He is not alone and many people in China feels that Chinese gov is too soft on some issues. If China is a liberal "democracy", then there will be war already in Taiwan and South China Sea.

I've noticed this in Russia as well but support for Russia seems to be divided along generational lines. Younger people seem to be more likely to condemn the war while the older seems to support it.

Actually the trend is this: people young or old who are familiar with politics, would generally empathize with ordinary citizens of Ukraine, but more or less support (or understand) Russian actions _ this is very apparent outside of the west. While most of the people young or old who didn't familiar themselves with politics, generally, condemned Russian actions.
@477sierra2 жыл бұрын
@@josephathorvey9479 So, let me just try to understand what you're saying. People who aren't familiar with politics are the ones condemning Russia's actions. And people who are familiar with politics understand Russia's position and empathize? If that's what you're trying to say, I have to disagree. Within Russia, the people supporting the war are one's who rely on the state media. Even in this case, it's divided along generational lines as younger people are more likely to rely on media from the internet rather than the state. It's the same thing outside of Russia and the west. People who rely on media outside of the confines of the state, will always have a broader view. And it's obviously younger people who are more likely to do this. It has less to do with how much politics you pay attention to and more about what types of media you are consuming.

8:19 The translation here is wrong, he said he doesn't think China will openly support Russia‘s attack. But China and Russia have a close relationship better than China and the West.

Many Asian countries seem to have learned from so many war crimes in the past and unlike the United States and its foreign policy nobody wants war in those places, that is admirable

Americans don't want war in those places also. No one wants war in that area. Except for Russia who has done it two three countries already

@@hopeintruth5119 Clearly the United States does not want war at home, but they do want war, which is why they have started wars that have cost the lives of millions of innocent people thousands of miles from their country. They only share a border with two countries, they should never have invaded and bombed any country, and yet they are always looking for conflicts and generating wars

@@hopeintruth5119 isn't the US that have been sending troops in other countries like middle East in the name of liberation? It's the US who always creates a problem. Russia and US are going on the same tract!
