Its a lot more impactful if you see the geoglyph memories first. I did the master sword geoglyph last and with that a final geoglyph is revealed that has a memory of the transformation. Its basically all but confirmed already, but it hits hard when you haven't had time to really digest that transformation. I also didn't know they literally meant a dragon, since I didn't get the master sword until after that memory.

My favorite part about this game's plot is the implication that if Link found the light dragon during Breath of the Wild, he could have dual-wielded Master Swords against Calamity Ganon. Edit: Guys, the opening cutscenes HEAVILY imply that this is _one cohesive timeline_ - everything in the story works without any need for creating a "new" timeline or "shifting" between them.

​​@@_ARCHE0PS iirc, the Korok became Kokiri some time before OoT to better interact with their Hylian neighbors, on the few occasions that any came into the woods (like Link's dying parents), and after being isolated again they went back to being Koroks, in part to better traverse the world after the flood. Of course, while most of the game can fit in the timeline at the very end, one thing that DOESN'T check out is there being Rito way back at the founding of Hyrule -- unless that was another founding of Hyrule, following the evaporation of the great ocean, or we're retconning WW anyways -- as Rito were specifically descended from *Freshwater* Zora to survive the flood.

​@@cameronwilsey9334 That part is tied to a quest in kakuriko village, which unlocks after fininshing the 4 sages and the follow-up quest I believe. If you follow the quest, and do the required actions, it should be dispelled. That island is strongly tied to that part of the story. You will know what i mean if you have done it.

Got to the shrine by ascending during that one minecart ride didnt even know it was possible to clear the storm until i googled it after beating the shrine, since usually hazards like this clear when you finish the objective but this didn't. Went through hell but at least i have a funny story to share with friends now lol

It's actually much sadder, in another memory it's explained that draconfication makes you lose one's memories and personality. Whatever is left literally gets dispelled as tears, hence why you can view Zelda's memories.

I'm pretty sure the "intended" solutions in both this game and BotW aren't designed as the only solutions; player freedom is part of the developer intention, else they wouldn't have given us these tools 12:55 Also, there was actually a Rusty Sword there in BotW; the Korok in that lake was from diving into a ring of lily pads

Just because a person doesn't place an impassable wall and turn off every tool but the one they intended doesn't mean they are designing for freedom. It is like getting a pack of legos that give you what you need to design a car and it gives you instructions to build. You have freedom but it wasn't the intent. There is just nothing stopping you. You can see this in TotK best when they give you parts to build a vehicle to accomplish an challenge. They often try to make the parts obvious by giving extras. They obviously want you to make a specific vehicle and ensure you clearly see it. They did even go so far as to punish some old things from BotW. They very much want you to play in a specific way.

Fujibayashi of the Zelda team himself said that player freedom is a priority and even things seen as bugs are intended in an interview, to quote him from the translation; "We’re really excited to see people who are able to figure out things we weren’t able to figure out. Because we made the game so that, even though you can do things that we weren’t expecting, it’s not a bug, it’s all part of the game mechanics and game logic." Freedom and weird solutions are intended as a part of player freedom in BotW, and TotK has the same direction with a new execution, player freedom and the ability to do whatever you want, including rushing to the final boss after the tutorial if you really want. Next time, please fact check something before you assume the person who made something didn't intend for X or Y solution

But that's just because movie properties sell better than a jumble of legos. Lego is definitely definitely intended to be used to just make random shit. That's not even up for debate. The designed solutions aren't "intended" exactly. The actual genius of the game IS this lack of intended solutions. They design a solution to things not because it's what they mean for you to do, it's so that if you can't think of anything else to do they've given you something to get you through. For the most part they're just happy to get out of the players way and let them tackle the world however they see fit, which is the best use case of this sort of open world design.

@@hikaratu Yeah, this is what I was meaning to suggest; shrines may have partially-built contraptions for you to finish, but they're also serving as introductions to various tools and mechanics, for the player to learn and experiment with, especially since you can explore the world in whatever order you wany I also doubt they'd have incorporated rail grinding or rocket/spring shields, for example, the way they did if they didn't expect people to use them

​@@cameronwilsey9334 the Thunderhead Island is actually the start of a main story dungeon, it's the last one you do and to start it you need to do the Hyrule Castle Dungeon (not the depth where you fight the last boss but the floating castle part which is the fifth dungeon in this game) and then go to Kakariko to start the dungeon quest

Heres a tip I wish i knew sooner. Every single depths lightroot location coresponds to a shrine on the surface so if you see any depths lightroot you found but nothing on the surface or vise versa theres probably something either in the depths or the surface

That said, the original memory introducing the dragon concept is a major Chekov's gun and had I experienced it first, I expect I would have been less impacted by the confirmation of what happened. I didn't at all mind that particular sequence break.

@@scroogledoogle3028 I did the memories in order (thanks to the Forgotten Temple), and when I found the one introducing the concept, I immediately related it to the fact that there's a new dragon that wasn't in BotW and guessed it was Zelda. For me personally, the build-up and eventual confirmation of that theory felt far better than if I'd just skipped straight to getting it, rather than being less impactful.

SPOILER WARNING, “Read more” at your own risk, I’m gonna be providing context for… …the light dragon being Zelda, and therefore citing many of the memories. Also I haven’t finished the game myself, so no further uncensored spoilers please! So the thing with Zelda becoming a dragon is that she was given a “Secret stone” when you and her found Gannondorf’s mummy, amplifying her power, though not giving more control (as seen in the first Gannondorf cutscene with the molduga, Zelda’s power is much stronger than Sonia’s). In the third memory in chronological order, she learns that if one swallowed their secret stone, they would become an “Immortal dragon”, gaining eternal life (go figure). After the lost fight against Gannondorf in the past, Zelda retrieves the decayed master sword from future Link, and remembers that the master sword grows in strength the longer it has been blessed for or something (can’t remember fully), which Zelda proceeds to do for Hyrule’s entire history, as an immortal dragon, starting from when she received the sword at Hyrule’s founding age, repairing and enhancing the master sword until Link eventually takes it back in the present, fixed, and much stronger than it was before.
