I used to come down here from kenosha with my dad in the 70's to see the coal plant the massive rail yard and the old EJ&E and C&NW switch out huge sets of coal cars...I still remember the fuss over hwy 137 going in

Never ended up finding it. We think it was in the part that was sealed off due to Asbestos, which we only explored a small amount of.

Power is being made up by cleaner, active plants across the state. Illinois is slowly abandoning coal and using natural gas & nuclear more than ever
