This is a cool video to watch because my dad also built a mansion in the late 80's / early 90's with literally ALL the design cues and themes that are seen in this video (marble, brass, mirrors, white leather, white carpet, statues everywhere, crystal display cases, glass planed light fixtures, everything angular and pointy) but I'm pretty sure he couldn't have spent more than $2m in 90's money on it. So touring this house is like touring my dad's house with everything blown 40 times out of proportion.

The reason for all the lavish bedrooms, office space and kitchens is because it wasnt really just a house. But rather an extension of the company itself. Robert Plaster was known for holding rather lavish corporate retreats and events there. Even allowed some of his most trusted employees to work out of there as a sort of vacation. The colors of the place are totally insane and were intended to match the logos of Empire Gas, his business he built from the ground up. The reason for the property's downfall was his failed attempt to turn the grounds into an incorporated community which was against state law, and his death. You guys are very lucky to get to see the inside I have always wondered myself what it looked like. Thanks for the video.

I framed houses in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. I helped build some of the largest, most insane and expensive custom homes you'd ever imagine. Many had elevators, some had a pool or tennis court under the house. One house had a bridge to the front door, another had a stone FP in the MBR you could see through to the MB and one had a 10+ person jacuzzi in the basement with a waterfall flowing into it. I could go on and on about all the really awesome homes I've had a hand in building but none come close to this place. It reminds me a lot of “home alone” movies style, if u know what I mean, not just the style but the VIBE and feel, I was born in ‘89, so I was pretty much a baby when that happened but the memories and feelings are fresh !!! Like sea waves 🌊 come to my mind, it was just TOO cozy everything back then right ? Even if it was mall or office style, you just felt cozy, like raining outside or something at 7pm, I don’t know how to explain, with some of those “aesthetic”’ songs from the early 90’s in the background, or Enya “sail away”, it might not look as minimal as today’s standards but today’s architecture isn’t as cozy as the 80’s early 90’s was........ you could just lay down anywhere and watch tv, it was PURRFECT, cause it wasn’t the 70’s kinda boring but also not the 2000’s yet, so perfect and minimalistic it lacks comfort and family vibe....... i might have been 6 years as much but I remember it very nicely Kinda like this kzbin.info/www/bejne/roq0o4OprtpgZ9U

Great idea you work and stay there. No commuting in traffic after a long day.

Nothing like living in a bank. Seems very cold but nicely decorated. I can't imagine how much dust and dirt had to be cleaned. Very nice to see this. Thanks

Yea the men’s and woman’s bathrooms made it seem like a buisness instead of a house

80 million and not one decent, luxurious shower. The entire place looks like a cold, converted office building.

Reports state this building was reported to be Robert Plasters home and Evergreen corporate retreat an attorney for Evergreen said it was a corporate facility. I had a feeling seeing this video that it wasn’t a personal home so to speak and definitely has a hotel feel especially with not seeing closets in the bedrooms. Plaster donated millions to colleges and had a stadium named after him. What an amazing life he must have lived
