Maldivians are Muslim born.They are not converted
@Christian_Paul_nz
@Christian_Paul_nz 29 күн бұрын
Their ancestors were converted by force. Those who refused were killed. Even today, those who refuse to follow Islam are sent to prison. Ask any lawyer on the islands, if this is true or not. In Europe and America, these Maldivians have the freedom to practise their religion, because that's a requirement in International Law. However, the Maldivians deny this right to their people. They break International Law, but demand that the world respects them. They don't allow Christians to build churches in the Maldives, but right at this moment, Maldivians are collecting money to build a mosque in Perth, Australia, because they hate Australia and want to wipe out Christianity in Australia.

@muhammet225 yes, they were. Have you not read about the native Maldives Buddhist monks who were beheaded? You should enrol in a proper school, as opposed to a madharusaa, and become educated. As late as the 1990s, Maldives Christians were sent to prison and tortured mercilessly until they recited the shahada.
@Christian_Paul_nz
@Christian_Paul_nz 24 күн бұрын
@muhammet225 don't you know that even today, there is no freedom of religion in the Maldives? The Maldives acceded to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and its Optional Protocols on 19 Sep 2006, without reservations. The mullah who was in charge of the Maldives government at that time was oblivious to the gravity of what he had done. When someone told him that he had just permitted conversion out of the Islam religion, he quickly back-tracked and, retrospectively, entered reservations stating that Muslims in the Maldives would still be forced (YES, FORCED) to remain Muslims. Recently, Maldivians raised money in mosques to build a mosque in Perth, Australia. After $18,000 was raised rapidly, someone told the Maldives authorities that Australia and other Western countries will demand that Maldives Christians must be allowed to build churches in the Maldives. Consequently, the young woman who raised the funds was quietly advised to abandon the idea of buidling a mosque in Australia. She was even given land in the Maldives, to build her mosque in memory of her late husband who had served in the Maldives Police. In the late 1990s, the Maldives Police arrested and, mercilessly, tortured a number of Maldives Christians until they recanted Christianity. Only earlier this year, two German women (one in her 20s and the other in her 70s) were deported from the Maldives after they were detained in Maafushi prison for distributing Christian literature in Divehi. Are you still telling me that no one is forced to be Muslims in the Maldives? What a load of camel faeces! In the meantime, Maldivians in mosques in the West relentlessly engage in distributing Islamic propaganda. Where is your shame, @muhammet225 ?

@ I wasn’t referring to what you guys did in ancient history. In the late 1990s you guys jailed several Maldives Christians. When the countries that give foreign aid, including educational opportunities, you guys became scared and backed down. The Maldivian Christians you guys jailed, raped and tortured, are still alive and well.

The reason why Maldives didn't become a backward state with civil unrest and segregation like Pakistan, Afghanistan and south Asian Muslim countries is because Maldives unified education system where all 100% of the students are taught Cambridge syllabus until 12th grade with examination coming from UK and 100% unified Islamic education coming from ministry of education syllabus. This system is perfected over 50 years of rigorous implementation. Maldivian scholars is given permits to give fatwas only if they are educated from universities accredited by Maldives qualifications authority and ministry of higher education. This ensures that scholars are educated from well known institutes mostly from Malaysia, Egypt and Medina. The result is a Peaceful educated nation with 0 space for violence. ❤❤❤
@Christian_Paul_nz
@Christian_Paul_nz 24 күн бұрын
It was the real cohort of pioneers of the modern education system, who were responsible for what you are boasting about. They did not come from madrassas in Pakistan, Malaysia, Egypt and Medina. You have not mentioned the contribution of those real pioneers. The modern English-medium education system in the Maldives was incepted in the early 1960s by young men and women who returned after being schooled at some of the most prestigous, Christian (mainly Roman Catholic) schools in Colombo and Kandy. They studied in the English medium, as opposed to Arabic, Malay or Hindoostani mediums. While admission to these schools were as competitive in the 1940s and the 1950s as it is now, the Maldives students were given special dispensation under an understanding between the then Maldives Acting Prime Minister Mohamed Amin Didi and the Most Reverend Jean-Marie Masson, Archbishop of Colombo. Under this arrangement which lasted until the mid-1960s, Maldives students were granted preferential admission in the leading Roman Catholic schools in Colombo and Kandy, such as St Peter's College, the Holy Family Convent (in Bambalapitiya) and Trinity College in Kandy. Mr Didi himself was an old boy of St Joseph's College in Colombo. Many of the first cohort of students who were given admission were asked to return home after their O-Levels to begin work on developing the Maldives. By sheer luck, to the Maldives, the Bandaranaike family came to power in Sri Lanka in the 1950s-60s and hastily embarked on a programme of ruining their beautiful country, an undertaking in which they succeeded with remarkable excellence. What was Sri Lanka's loss was the Maldives' gain. The best teachers in Sri Lanka fled the Bandaranaike ravages. They were English-language educated and mainly Burghurs (people of mixed, White and Brown races). While waiting for visas to migrate to Europe, America and Australia, they found employment in the Maldives and did a remarkable job at educating the first couple of cohorts of Maldives boys and girls who were responsible, along with those who returned from Colombo and Kandy, to launch the fruits of development that you see in the Maldives today. The tourism industry in the Maldives came into being as a result of people such as M.U. Maniku and his siblings, the godfathers of tourism in the Maldives. There were others too. The prosperity that followed had absolutely zilch to do with the fanatical and unwashed mullahs who returned from madrassas in Cairo, Herat, Medina, Kuala Lumpur and Bahawalpur.

@muhammet225 However, certain scholars have proposed the possibility that Ibn Battuta might have misinterpreted Maldivian texts, potentially influenced by a bias or preference for the North African Maghrebi/Berber narrative surrounding this Shaykh. This theory suggests that Ibn Battuta may have overlooked or downplayed the alternative account of East African origins, which was also known during that period.[11] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_the_Maldives

The Moroccan myth over the identity of the person who converted the King in Male to Mahometanism is quite recent. The traditional narrative places this person in Tabriz in Iran. There is also a narrative that identifies that person as Kalhaihaaru ge Dhoraaboo, a trader who was a native of Addu Atoll, who frequented to Persia. Certainly, Mahometan religious terminology used in the Maldives is largely derived from the Farsi language of Iran, rather than the Arabic language of Morocco or Somalia. Have you come across words such as "namaadhu" (Farsi "namoz") and "roadha" (Farsi "roza")? Amazingly Maldivians did not adopt the Arabic equivalents of these words, which are "salat" and "sowm". Instead, they adopted the Farsi-derived equivalents. So forget about your old-wives' tales about Morocco and Somalia. There is also a very strong evidence of the trade connections in antiquity, between the Maldives and the Persian Gulf. The traditional currency unit of the Maldives, whch is still in use, is the "Laari". The word comes from Larestan, the name of a Persian (Iranian) county known as شهرستان لارستان (Sheherestan Larestan) facing the Persian Gulf even today. Presently, Larestan is in the Fars province of Iran.
