We survived :D The famous rough ride to Itbayat. It's all worth it. The northern most inhabited island of the Philippines is simply BEAUTIFUL! If you go to Batanes and you have time on your hand, it's definitely a must see. Want more travels and behind the scenes material? Please follow on Facebook too!! facebook.com/TravelGretl

KZbin is messing up the thumbnails. So when you see the one where I look utterly bewildered - please forgive me! If all is working fine again, you'll get the thumbnail that was promised ;)
@HereBeBarr8 жыл бұрын
KZbin loves to do that, did it to my last vlog to :( I love your filming, that's my biggest weakness. You keep nice steady shots at all times.
@TravelGretl8 жыл бұрын
It's also WARP stabilizer going over it and the camera doing some of the stabilisation for me ;) Of course a gorillapod every once and then helps! Yeah, KZbin is aseholly about thumbnails this week! There are many more complains about this behind the scenes...

But you're always up for an adventure and tries almost everything even though its uncommon and bizarre. You even hang out with the locals and that's totally amazing of you 😊. I've been to Batanes twice. But, I took the Itbayat tour during my first vacation. It's true, it's a rough and tough ride to be in that boat going to Itbayat. Plus, u must be a person of balance to be able to hop on their very basic port. It's exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. But above else, the view in Itbayat is gloooorrrioooous! I appreciated the rough travel going there. Worth it!

First,I like to thank you Miss Gretl for posting this video.Very nice presentetion.I didn't know about Batanes until now.It's a beautifull place and so different from other places in the Philippines.It looks like a different country like Norway maybe or Ireland.If only the Philippine gov't now do something to keep developing Batanes,It will attract many tourists in the future.No doubt.More money will be coming in.
@TravelGretl7 жыл бұрын
True, though I also cross my fingers for the government to really start thinking about preserving everything. Not sure what they do about it already, but the money will flow for a few years, though much more can be broken in that time. So I think there should be a double focus :)

You are perhaps a little braver than I would be...to leave all amenities behind for a few days to explore these islands. But what a beautiful place! And how wonderful to get to know the people and the culture in a way you could not if staying in hotels and touristy areas.
