Went to Atami for two nights on my very first trip to Japan. Stayed in New Akao hotel it was very beautiful and elegant, a very nostalgic interior yet modern services. They have multiple onsen locations that very close to the sea level and at high level with the horizon views.

Your video is very helpful and I love it! I plan to do a day trip from Shinjuku to this Atami Onsen and will not sleep here. Can I make reservation for private bath only? I tried your link but it’s said the page not found. Do you have a new link? Thank you!

Hello! Thank you for the kind response and I'm glad that it was helpful for you. Yes, you can make a reservation for private bath only without staying. I had reserved the bath at the hotel counter on the day I used it. As for the link, it appears to be working for me, but I found their instagram page too, so perhaps you may be able to contact the hotel from there. Link: instagram.com/atami_yumeiroha/ Thank you!

Hi, is there a bus that goes around this area? Me and my friends are planning to visit here for a couple days and was wondering how we could get around? I saw there was one called YuYu bus? Thank you!
@jmsolotravel Жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for the comment. As far as I am aware, Yu-Yu Bus (湯遊バス) is the only service catering to tourists that covers the main areas and tourist attractions in Atami Onsen. You can get a day-pass for ¥700 from the Tokai Bus Atami Office right next to the JR Atami Station. It is separate from the local bus service, with its own bus stops. It can be a convenient and cheaper way to get around, but there are only 13 bus operations a day, once every 30 minutes, so it is important to pay attention the the bus schedule to avoid hiccups in your travel. Personally, I prefer using a rental car for more flexibility in time. Thank you for watching!

Hi! Is the onsen that you visited at Atami a private booking? If so, how much did it cost and how do you do it? Ill be going to Japan for 2 weeks for vacation, but I do not know how I feel to be naked around strangers. I will also be going there as a day trip with my brother and 2 friends.
@jmsolotravel Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment! It was a private onsen that I had booked the night before by phone. The price was 2500yen for 45 minutes for one person. Onsen hotels usually have public onsens separated into male and female baths, and private onsens (kashikiri onsen) that you can rent all to yourself or friends and family. If you feel uncomfortable being naked around strangers, private onsen is definitely a safe choice. However, people usually keep to themselves and tend not to look at others in public baths, and can be quite an interesting cultural experience if it is your first time! I hope that was helpful. If you would like any help or suggestions for trip planning, feel free to send me a message on my Instagram and I’ll get back to you there too! Thanks for watching :)

The water in the onsen doesn’t look nature
@jmsolotravel Жыл бұрын
The water in that ryokan was piped from the onsen source of Atami, but onsen water comes in many different colours and textures, maybe this is the clearer type!
