The way you deal with taxis refusing your ride is that when they pull over, you just get in and state your destination. If they say no, you pretend you don't understand and repeat your destination until they take you. Worked for me. The inside of that taxi looked like something from a movie or the previous century, haha. It's crazy that they still have pull rikshaws, where the guy walks and pulls it. I'd be embarrassed to ride one of those. Like, he's walking, why shouldn't I walk myself?

Yes it is. But, also that way he can earn something, he hardly earns anything due to that. Most people either take tram or taxi or walk, only a few like Dale would wish to just try it out for fun. Locals wouldn't. Also, u can't just give em money out of sympathy, because that is just making someone a begger. The fact that he's not begging but working anything to earn, no matter how small the job is, makes him wonderful.

@@akpiplodwala4008 Who is "they" and what fare are you talking about. It sounds like a bullshit story because prices are fixed for all transport, except for taxis and ubers, but Taxis use meters and Uber gives you an estimate. If your Uber tried to Jib you, you can make a complaint, and leave a bad rating. Then the driver will be fired. Poverty is not an excuse to discriminate against people. When a rich Indian born in the west goes to India does he get charged more? No. Its also dumb, because most westerners will pay extra and leave a large tip when they are being treated fairly. They will make MORE money being honest.

I am a Bengali too and I know my state very well and I 'm also well aware of the fact that even illiterate people here aren't that foolish to not be able to recognise rupees .
