Exploring Kruja. Eating Albanian National Dish and Walking Through Centuries Old Bazaar!
Kruja is a town almost half an hour outside Tirana. It boasts a castle and it's beautiful ruins. The steep land formation is perfect spot to see the town of Kruja below, it was picturesque!
After exploring the ruins, we walked through one of the oldest gift shop there is. The bazaar is said to be 4 centuries old and is still standing! The amazing array of souvenirs of different kinds, shapes and sizes brings a very touristic feel, not to mention the entire lazy walking experience is charmed by singing birds.
We also had a taste of their National Dish and as my wife described it was very similar to our Filipino dish Mechado.

Hi Neha! If you're travelling with kids, we would suggest to rent a car with driver, it will be more convenient especially for little kids. We went only nearby cities from tirana like kruja, dajti and the farthest was the berat(almost 2hrs drive). In tirana there was a free walking tours. 😊However, if you love beaches you can explore the south part like vlore and saranda. Let me know if you need the contact # of the agency we hired for our 5-day tour.
