Hi always good to see Prius going over trails. I have a 2012 Prius V that I had lifted and 16 inc wheels with All Terrain Tires. Am looking for more off-road adventures. Oh I did get the skid plate on as well.

My 2012 V is getting the “no that is not possible for you” talk. “You have a longer wheelbase and only lifted 1.5. Plus your mom doesn’t know how to adapt the Prius hitch or weld a front bumper” lol It is so fun to watch your Jim!

Pretty impressive for a Prius I know this track now as you know, always looks more basic on video than on track. Great video thanks for uploading it to share. I wonder how you would go on another track I know up in the Otways that's similar to this track if not easier. I also must say your very keen to go alone!

Definitely keen to get back to the Otways again one day, it's been years since I went there. My partner was back at the campground with her 4x4 van if I got really stuck, plus it was a pretty busy weekend so I wasn't truely alone, I think I would have been much more careful if it was a more remote track 😂

I've started watching the old videos and I have to ask. When you swapped the wheels off your old Liberty did it just work out they managed to fit or you knew the Prius could run the same setup?

It was just a coincidence that they fit, but I'm very happy they did as it saved me a lot of money on a new set of tyres!

Have you turned the traction slip control off?

Yep, the terrain in this video would be impossible with it turned on, see my older video "Exploring Bunyip 2" for an example of the difference between traction control off and on.

@@MinimaDomum do you have to turn traction controll off via a combination of brake presses or something every time you start the car? I forget the combo but remember it was like trying to activate a cheat code. pain in the ass

@@ChrisIsOutside Yep, it is indeed a pain, I only turn it off when I know i'm about to do something silly that will need it, you dont wanna be driving around with it off all the time as it uses heaps more fuel

Why not? It's fun to see how far I can go, and also builds skills and confidence that could get me out of an accidental sticky situation one day.

@@Add12this you'd be surprised, anything that can go further off road than this for a similar price is much worse on the road in every day use, this is my only car on the road currently so it needs to be a practical daily as well as a camping rig

use B mode under 18mph and you have extra regen braking and engine doesn't turn on

Traction control is disabled for this entire video, I wouldn't have even made it up the first obstacle with traction control turned on.

@@MinimaDomum hmmm mine seems to not have as many problems after I disable traction control. My guess is it's probably steeper or worse in person than it looks on video.

@@yvairguy ah yes it's hard to capture the steepness on video, a lot of the time one wheel was completely off the ground, the beginning of the track says "4wd only"
