That impressive, castle-like building that caught your eye ... that's the old Masonic Temple, built in 1914. The size and quality construction of the place is a testament to just how much wealth there once was in Little Falls.

Glad you enjoyed touring our city. You had a perfect day for it. According to the local historical society, the first cheese market in the US was established in Little Falls in 1861 where prices were set. Buttermilk Falls is on the other side of the city from where you were. The huge building at the end of your video was once the Masonic Lodge, though recently was a private home/pottery studio, and was recently sold again. The smaller building across from it was the first schoolhouse in LF. And if you ever saw the movie "A Quiet Place" from 2018, the opening scene was filmed on our Main Street where you were walking. It's a cool city, though wintertime is another story! :D

i was exploring route 5 in little falls on street view and saw a small green building by the train tracks that said “walkway to canal place” and saw stairs going downward. is there a tunnel going underneath the train tracks or was that just a basement to that building?

@@thuncourt013 That's a small tunnel (our subway) taking you beneath the tracks to the other side. There was another one less than half a mile to the west that is no longer is use.

If you look under the bridge behind old sales there is me and my friends fishing spot I'm glad to see people happy about this place it's not very exiting to me🤣
