Christ died once, but as God, His sacrifice is infinite. the re-presentation of the sacrifice of the mass is that infinite thing penetrating at points in our finite world. at each pin-prick of christ's death through time that we call the mass, we can set our needs in the sacrifice at the very foot of the cross all of 2000 years ago. This is only possible because of the His ascension into Heaven.

He is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. A sacrificial lamb in the Old Testament would be eaten.

@@alejandrocanela691 It can be eaten, offered as a burnt sacrifice, etc. but not for the atonement for the soul. The priest would enter into the most holy place with only the blood and sprinkle the mercy seat with it.
