If you thought the waters in Mombasa were clear wait until you get to DIani water so clear you can see the sea floor and sea creatures at low tide nearer the shoreline. The mango snack you had iat the beach is sun dried semi ripe mangoes coated in a sugar baobab powder and food colouring syrup. I wish you had gone inside Fort Jesus so much history there.

Mombasa seems like it's in a different country when compared to Nairobi. The old architecture is really beautiful. The newer developments are like any other modern building. The Swahili food looked really good too at such affordable prices. Kenya is impressive. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, some of the foods and snacks are the same as in Guyana, from the Red Mangoes, the Green Mangoes with pepper and salt we also pickle the green mangoes with pepper/salt/vinegar or lime/lemon juice), the coconut curry fish (or coconut curry anything). Kenya looks great thus far.

That's because we have a similar history of Indian presence in the country as Guyana and Trinidad. The AfroIndian community in Kenya are as a result of indetured servants being brought over from India by the British more than a century ago. They brought their foods and language which have been adopted into native Kenyan culture. What you guys call Pholourie we call Bhaji za dengu we also eat daal and our version of pulao again thanks to the Afro Indian community they are actually the 44th tribe of Kenya

Kenya is so diverse continue exploring it, if you want the best mangoes visit our Eastern parts of the country (ukambani areas) they have the best and sweetest mangoes, next visit Kisumu city it's a lakeside city same size with Accra, then visit Nakuru city which is our second city with a national park after Nairobi (it also has a lake)

What’s the size of Accra?
@stevenjenga7171 Жыл бұрын
Come on Kariuki. Accra is not the same size as Kisumu which is the third largest city in Kenya after Nairobi and Mombasa. A lot of tourists and visitors to Mombasa mistake Old Town Mombasa with the entire city of Mombasa. Old town is the oldest "city" in Kenya. In modern times, it's very old and neglected but it existed as a beautiful city as far back as the 800s. (not the 1200s, not the 1500s not the 1800s, but the 800s). The not-so-beautiful places you see in Old Town are not what you find in the modern parts of Mombasa. With that being said, we Kenyans love every place in our country. We have everything the good, the bad and the ugly from the ultra modern to the sketchiest, the hottest weather to the most freezing, the wealthiest neighborhoods to ghettos, slums, and beautiful rural countrysides. We are proud of our motherland and treat all visitors with respect thats whywe are the only country in Africa where you'll find people from all over the world. Long live Mombasa and God bless my country Kenya.
