i know i'm over a year late but, just to make kevin feel better, I come from an Irish family in the US and dipping a finger in whiskey and rubbing it on a teething babies gums was definitely a thing. At least a thing we talked or joked about. I don't know of anyone who actually did it. But it was an old school remedy that was passed down, and while i do not encourage anyone to do it, just saying that in Kevin's defense, it WAS a thing at one point.
