That gravel road reminded me of the I90 interstate running through South Dakota USA; the surveyor plotted a pretty much straight line for distances of 20 to 60 or more km. On pavement can get very boring to say the least. Love the unique lens work.

How different is the make up of the rock compared to rocks on earth! Most interesting-certainly wouldn't want to be under it when it landed.

It is incredible piece of Rock? Does look remarkably like a metallic nugget of some sort 🤔 What I find even more fascinating and no-one seems to mention it, is that it landed in the middle of that small walled / stepped garden 😮 😮 😉 😂 The area looks so lovely to ride through - you are living a lot of peoples dreams!! Meteorite was very interesting. Just plunked the rock down in the desert. Doesn't seem to have a crater. Big chunk of metal rock.

Looking at the first images you showed it looks like it has been cut with an oxycetaline torch reminded me off cutting up old armoured vehicles to scrap them I wonder how much metal is in it's composition and how magnetic as it looks like there is a high content in it.

That lump *is* steel. It's an iron meteorite that basically was cooked to steel on its way down.

Well. it actually is a "metallic meteorite"- the most common type (as opposed to a stoney meteorite. It consists of a collection of metallic minerals usually with olivine. Info available says it is about 84% iron and 16% nickel with trace of cobalt. They are usually magnetic and as you can guess are very dense. Most meteorites vaporize on their way thru the atmosphere- and the meteorite you see likely represents only portion of the original meteorite since they usually "explode" into many fragments during passage thru the air. (Enough info!).

Yours is the biggest in the world est over 60tonne, I remember when I was about 11 at Mbeya school Tanganyika, one day we were taken to see a local meteorite, but much smaller only about 12tonne, about the only thing I remember is trying to scratch it with my little pen knife, very very hard.
