Awesome video, Jack. Looked like something out of Road Warrior. My favorite relic was the Navy plane.

There have been several movies filmed there. 3000 miles to Graceland is one that comes to mind. The Navy plane was interesting to see in the middle of a ghost town in the Nevada desert.

I'm Korean. I spent about a year in California in 2007, and I miss it so much. While searching for the United States with nostalgic thoughts, I ended up here. It feels refreshing.

Oh wow shot on site. Thanks for risking your life for us. Enjoyed watching Jack. This looks like a great place to play a game of laser tag or test out the paint gun lol

Thanks for watching. Apparently they've had issues with people visiting. They don't play any games when getting checked in, a strict safety brief is given. There are areas that are completely off limits (private residences and such). I paid for a videography/photo ticket and passed their stupidity test, thus was allowed to go into some of the 'keep out' areas.

It is worth the stop in. There is a charge to walk around, $1 per person for 15 minutes. if you are doing video or photography it's $25 for an hour. The latter will get you into 'keep out' areas, after the safety brief/stupidity check.

That was quite a sign . Awesome tour ! Those old cars are cool to look at! Stupid people went and ruined things for others. That store is amazing, but I’ll pass on those cook books 🤣. Beautiful view indeed. Appreciate you sharing this.

I love the rules. I remember S&H greenstamps. I've got a bunch of those old insulators in the basement. I keep saying I'm going to make something out of them but haven't gotten around to it.

Great video jack. Completely enjoyed viewing. Astute comment on custers last stand. Things are always different depending on perspective. Haven’t seen that drawing in a long time either. Shame about stupid people but were they at least nice in the store I hope and maybe I missed it but what is the fee. Hope to make it there sometime and appreciate the info about heading down to view the Colorado river. Thank you again.

Sorry just saw the fees on another response. Photo video fee depends I think on how much on photos and videos but does buy you more time at least

For the photos/video they asked what I was shooting and why. For that it was $25 for an hour. They were really cool about it, as I actually got over an hour, as I checked in at 20 minutes to the hour, they said I had to the top of the next hour.

Thank you for your kind comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the viewing experience. You're absolutely right, perspectives can shape our understanding of history. It's interesting how certain artifacts, like the drawing, can bring back memories. As for the store, they were quite nice. Some behind the scenes stuff, I actually filmed the end of the video at the Colorado River first, then made my way back to Nelson, it's definitely worth the drive.. Thank you for your support and appreciation.

@@NevadaJack nice sounds good definitely want to to this I know some places don’t like to allow recording afraid that it will discourage others from going if they can see it on line but it’s really free advertisement that leads to others like me wanting to go. Thanks

Hi, I was there during out trip with my wife to Las Vegas las week and to my surprise I found that this city is called The Dorado Canyon from 1806 and not Nelson. Nelson is another city over the same road very close to Dorado Canyon. Even Google shows the same location error. Am I right?
@NevadaJack
@NevadaJack 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! You're correct that there's a modern town called Nelson nearby. The area explored is indeed Nelson Ghost Town, sometimes referred to as Techatticup Mine, or Eldorado Ghost Town. It's situated within the historic Eldorado Canyon, I hope you enjoyed your trip to Las Vegas! 😊
