As a child I used to play in the church graveyard. I am 69 years old and cannot believe somethings I am hearing in this video. Regular visit to the graveyard. Also every church I looked after for The Churches conservation Trust was haunted. To date I have never heard or seen anything ghostly. But it all makes a good video. Cheers from George

Interesting vlog, Sam!! Would you be interested to check out Spye Park, near Lacock, Wilts. please? I had the creepiest experience when driving past the gates, which were on a B-road going up a hill from Lacock village. *Something* got in the car with me as I went down the road from the A road above. ( sorry I do not know the actual A road number, as I was cutting cross country at the time, and I had never been in that area before) Whatever it was was very scary, and I can only say it was a feeling of terror and someone or thing, being pursued, running for it's life. I noticed the gates with sign I could partly read as Sp..e Park ie 'Spye Park'. That is midway up or down the hill; as you go down the hill, it is on the left, and if going up the hill, it is on your right. It left me abruptly as I got to the bottom of the hill, on with edge of Lacock on my right...This was a Sunday morning about 10 am... At my destination a few miles onwards, I checked map before setting off on return journey, determined not to go past there again on way home. However, i got lost in the myriad of minor roads, and suddenly found myself at the bottom of the same hill again, having approached Lacock from opposite direction!! Rather than turn back, I decided to chance it, and setting back up the hill, whatever it was again was in the car with me, not outside, IN the car. The terror was palpable from it, and it seemed heated and fetid. ( I sort of wondered whether it was a hunted animal, or sacrificed animal, or human ie later, when I got home and did some research)...This time, I was better prepared, and was able to slow down to accurately read the sign on the gates as being Spye Park. I am sure it was a back gate, not the main entrance...Anyway, I was so freaked out that when I got home, I did some research and contacted Paranormal Wiltshire, detailing my experience and I had located the actual roads for them. They sent me an email of about 5 pages long as it is a place where there have been many paranormal experiences, with Roman soldiers seen crossing road, and other things, and at one time, in the '90's I think, it was a world conferance centre, but had to close down due to the paranormal phenomena; no one would stay there. I think it might be a great place for you to do a vlog on, and Lacock village itself has some history of bad goings on with the wild and evil man who threw a newborn baby into a fire in the 1700s, though I think his mansion is no more. I had wondered whether whether Spye park was the site of that terrible happening, but I checked and it is not. The area might make an interesting walk for you though!!

Hi Lynne! Oh my 😱 that sounds really scary. I will have a look at maps and stories of the area, and see what I can find. Thank you so much for now.

@@SamWalksALot Thank you Sam. I can't find the original notes and email to & from Wiltshire Paranormal. It was about 15 years ago now, but I will look on maps tomorrow and try to get the road numbers for you. I was cutting cross country at the time, but pretty certain I will be able to find the route again. (Wierdly, I had a similar incident happen driving past the Rollright Stones one evening, but nowhere near as intense. That was a route I drove twice daily, for about 17 years, and never felt a thing other than that one time. If I can find the email from wilts Paranormal, I'll send it to you,

Wonder if hauntings have much to do with how close such a ruin is to a town or large village? We have two similar but not easily accessible ruins nearby (one built on a Roman site) but they are well away from habitation (Durham/North Yorks border) and I've never heard of any ghost stories about either of them.
@SamWalksALot3 ай бұрын
@alalder1533 that's possible. I think that hauntings residual energies from people that were strongly connected to those places, maybe?
@alalder15333 ай бұрын
@@SamWalksALot Perhaps folk memory of such incidents lasts longer in areas of greater population density especially as folk memory is inclined to be generational also if the incident doesn't recur. By the way; one of 'our' two ruins was painted by Turner (Brignall Church).
