Have you visited the NSW Tablenads? What is your favourite spot there?

This is all my back yard all amazing but the less known camping spots are some of the best anywhere 👌

My distinct memory of the Barrington and Glouster region is of leeches and rather cold water to swim in but amazing scenery.

I can confirm that Ladies Well and the surrounding campsites seems to attract the wrong camping crowd. Both times we've been there, there was always a group that were inconsiderate to other campers by continuing to play loud music and regularly screeming and laughing out loud all throughout the night and till morning. I have a pair of old shoes hanging in Boot Hill, that I left there in 2022. 😁

I too have had bad experience camping there due to anti-social campers. I'll never go there for a weekend camping trip again. Best to experience it during weekdays if you're able to.

Ive been running 35x12.5x17 kenda klever r/t's on my 105 for just under 2 years now. Sidewalls a strong and haven't had any punctures. I did find that they require more frequent re-balancing for some reason.

good to know will rotate and balance every 5000km

Wooden barrier at the bottom of the rear door @1:21 looks interesting - is there a video on that?
@AlloffroadAu8 ай бұрын
no just a piece of wood I cut out so stuff does not fall out of the footwell when opening
@ZennonDamant8 ай бұрын
Yeah its a great idea! Also, that 'tray' which replaces the rear seat: What is that called and where do you get it from? Or did you make it yourself?

Convenient that you post this just before I'm looking at heading up to the Barrington Tops this weekend 😁 I might have to join your Patreon to get the GPX files off you so I can hit up some of those camp sites...

Hi mate, I had the Kenda Klever R/T tires (33inch) for three years on my Navara np300 Ute and found them dicey and very slippery on wet or even damp bitumen roads while cornering and taking of. Dangerous to me , I reckon. Changed to Mickey Thompson Baja boss A/T . Excellent grip in the wet giving me more confidence . And great off road. Yes much more expensive but I am worth it !! Thought you should know, just in case. Cheers.

Interestingly, our last trip was very wet, and I drove a lot on the road in torrential rain. So far, no issues on wet roads the M/T handled very well. Will see how it continues if they wear down a bit

@@AlloffroadAu Food for thought: You drive a 105 series cruiser , I had similar vehicle 3 inch lift/35 inch tyres And constant 4wd though, versus my Navara is only 2wd on bitumen in the wet. Never had a slippery issue in the wet on my cruiser with Mt or At tyres. and my cruiser was much heavier/ more planted down, 3.1 tonnes versus 2.4 on my current ute. what do you think? cheers
@AlloffroadAu7 ай бұрын
yep could definitely play a roll and naturally 2wd will be more slippery on wet road then permanent 4wd

05:40 Leeches sense body heat and will drop from a fern or branch. They're hard wired for that purpose - one of many.

yep and they dam good in that lol

While along that area, more on the New England Hwy side, did you stop by Burning Mountain Nature Reserve around Wingen? If unfamiliar, It's a short 4kms return walk to the burning mountain itself from the carpark. It's amazing to see that this naturally burning coal seam has been smouldering underground for over 5500 years and expected to continue to burn for another 2000+ years.
@AlloffroadAu8 ай бұрын
geez, no, I heard of that, but I totally forgot. Is it still burning? Next time

I also don’t get why people who go out and enjoy these locations, can just leave all their rubbish behind… Then they complain that these tracks get closed.
@AlloffroadAu7 ай бұрын
Yes I 100% agree I just don't understand why people go out into nature to enjoy it and then destroy it does not make any sense
