The Spanish occupation by the Moors began in 711 AD when an African army, under their leader Tariq ibn-Ziyad, crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from northern Africa and invaded the Iberian peninsula ‘Andalus’ (Spain under the Visigoths). The African Muslim Moors peacefully ruled parts of Andalucia Spain for 800 years and introduced the rogue Spaniards to civility, architecture, African spices into the food and air fresheners to scent the homes, cleanliness (bathing - bidets & bath houses), tooth cleaning), air conditioning, lighting of their streets, flavorful clean food recipes and integrated African words to the Spaniard lexicon, introduced paper to Europe and Arabic numerals, which replaced the clumsy Roman system, as well as introduced many new crops including the orange, lemon, peach, apricot, fig, sugar cane, dates, ginger and pomegranate as well as saffron, sugar cane, cotton, silk and rice which remain some of Spain’s main products today. Education was universal in Moorish Spain, available to all, while in Christian Europe ninety-nine percent of the population were illiterate, and even kings could neither read nor write. At that time, Europe had only two universities, the Moors had seventeen great universities! These were located in Almeria, Cordova, Granada, Juen, Malaga, Seville, and Toledo. The very first African Muslim Moor established university in Europe was Salamanca University. African Muslim Moors introduced new scientific techniques to Europe, such as an astrolabe, a device for measuring the position of the stars and planets. Scientific progress in Astronomy, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography and Philosophy flourished in Moorish occupied Spain. Lastly, over 4,000 Arabic words and Arabic-derived phrases have been absorbed into the Spanish language. Words beginning with “al,” for example, are derived from Arabic. Arabic words such as algebra, alcohol, chemistry, nadir, alkaline, and cipher entered the language. Even words such as checkmate, influenza, typhoon, orange, and cable can be traced back to Arabic origins.

you will find this same architecture in Morocco who are the real Moors thanks to the conquest of Tarek ibn Zyed and all the Berber tribes of northern Morocco. the Middle Arabs only brought Islam the real conquerors of the Iberian Peninsula are the Moors = Moroccans . And even now they keep Andalusian traditions such as architecture, crafts, culture, and last thing only Moroccans are able to restore the palaces that are in Spain

The North African Moors entered the Iberian Peninsula in the year 711, destroying most of the peninsula with blood and fire. The Hispano-Goths did not at all need a different people, with a different religion and a different culture, to invade a country under construction. The population of What is now Spain was reduced by half thanks to the bloodbaths produced by the Moors, the conquering force. The north of Spain where the Hispano-Visigoths resisted did not have enough population to be able to counterattack timidly for centuries. The culture was in Al- Andalus, which had preserved the classical teachings of Greece and Rome. The peninsula endured the attacks of the harshest sectors of the Muslim religion. First the Almoravids and then the Almohads, even crazier than the previous ones. Please do not idealize the conquest of the peninsula. by the Moors.
