Exploring on the XR150L: Hickory Run State Park, Eckley Miners Village & More (White Haven, PA)

Back in April, Kelsey and I went home to hang out with my family. It was my mom’s birthday so I wanted to see her and my grandfather lives with my parents now so I got to spend some time with him, too.
As is the case anytime I go home, I made sure to bring my motorcycle and my mountain bike. The Ridgeline handled the journey like a champ and delivered us home comfortably.
On the Monday before we left my Dad and I were able to get out for a ride. We chose to ride up to Hickory Run State Park to Boulder field where we could ride a few miles of dirt. When we finished that loop we rode back out towards the Lehigh Tannery where we made our way to the White Haven-Weatherly road and over to Caplos road. A few more miles of dirt later you’re dumped out onto Valley Road which will take you to a really cool section of dirt that goes straight up the side of the mountain and spits you out amongst strip mine operations and directly across from Eckley Miners Village.
We cruised through Eckley before making our way back down the same road. We then hopped onto Sandy Valley Road and connected it over to Brickyard Road which has a small section of dirt.
From here we made our way back over to 437 and then over to Middleburg Rd. At the intersection near White Haven Poconos, we hopped onto a cool DCNR access road that takes you down along the Lehigh River. Here my GoPro died, but we pretty much just rode to the end of the dirt and then turned around and made our way home.
It was awesome getting to ride with my Dad. Life has been busy for us both but it was great to spend time with him and ride our motorcycles. 🏍️

I’m nearing 2000! Last year I was splitting time between the CT125, the XR150, and a BMW F650. But now the BMW is gone and the XR is getting all the love. So many more miles to come this summer!
