This abandoned building used to be for the Ridenour-Baker Grocery Company and then later for the Weld Wheel Company. There is a decent amount to explore and a good view from the roof.

I remember exploring this place a few times with so many people. I have some of my favorite pictures in there. Too bad it's been demolished now. God dude, I really wish I could explore it one last time after watching this video. Like, I've never seen those railings around the stairs on the whole way up. It used to be so scary to go up those stairs with an open middle.

I worked in this building around the mid-2000s until Weld Racing moved to the old rival crock pot building out close to the stadiums. I had some good times in that building and worked with some great people. I worked on the second floor across from the elevators. There was a small closet next to the restrooms that used to be the old server room. Close to the elevators, there should be holes where the man lift used to run. One of the biggest reasons that Weld moved out of that building was because getting products to different places through an elevator was too much. It slowed the production down. there wasn't a floor I wasn't in when I worked there. I even got forklift certified there as an IT person. Was a great place to work back in those times.

Last night I went to this building about around 2 in the morning. Me and my friends were just exploring the building and how it would look and feel like at night. Going inside , it was pitch black. No lights besides our own. About a couple flights up, maybe like the 3rd or 4th floor, we saw a white man and black man walking towards the other side of the building. But we kept looking at the them until they heard us and the white man told us to watch out of the roof because there was a hole somewhere. But the thing I didn’t notice until the last minute was the black man… he never spoke or turned back.. but wee could see that he was naked. The white man had on clothes but the black man didn’t. I didn’t know what to think of it, whether just homeless people or crazy people. But for me it didn’t seem like that at all. A white man with a phone because he had a flashlight from the phone, and a naked black man who didn’t speak or look back. The white man after telling us the roof had a hole, told us to move along multiple times. I didn’t want to think of it as much because it could just be homeless or crazy people like I said. But something about the way the black man was walking seemed to me like something was about to happen and i didn’t know what.

i may have seen some of that from another angle. I recall noticing a young white man stopping off there late at night , going in the building and leaving after an intermediate period of time. i saw him there a couple times, as though he was meeting someone for what I assumed to be a sex or drug interaction. one of the potential risks of abandoned places is that they attract people who want to do things they can't do at home.... I like the docs caboose east cam so I see things that happen there at the weld bldg. come to think of it, I believe the first time I saw the white guy stop in there, after he drove off a black man came out and left as a pedestrian.

i hadn't realized how much graffitti there is inside. some of the graffitti shows real talent. I'm accustomed to seeing the building from the doc's caboose webcam. i've seen stuff go on there at the building in the middle of the night. most notably, there was a double shooting a couple weeks ago with 1 fatality. Since then, I think they've sealed up some of the openings as I haven't seen any urban explorers there subsequenty. I kind of wonder when someone will have an accident there in the dark as the stairs appear most as dangerous as the roof ! thanks again for sharing this.

went there last winter and in the garage spot at 1:45 had a pink (probably used to be red) chiefs bus and it was awesome. i got pictures of it and it was mostly in tact besides a broken window, some rust, and open wires like someone had tried to hot wire it
