Exploring Oqaatsut with a Local Guide in Ilulissat, Greenland (Oqaatsut Settlement Boat Tour)

Explore Oqaatsut Settlement in Ilulissat, Greenland with a local Greenlandic guide. Oqaatsut, formerly Rodebay or Rodebaai, is a settlement in Avannaata municipality, in western Greenland. It had 29 inhabitants in 2020. The modern name of the settlement is Kalaallisut for "Cormorants". The village is served by the communal all-purpose Pilersuisoq store.
The settlement is located on a small peninsula off the mainland in eastern Disko Bay, 14 km north of Ilulissat. The settlement itself faces the shore of the small Akuliarusinnguaq bay, bounded to the north by Qeqertaq island, one of several islands with that name − 'qeqertaq' means 'island' in Greenlandic.
The most popular way to get to Oqaatsut is on a boat trip from Ilulissat, though it is also possible to walk from Ilulissat following the orange markers which might take up to a day. During winter, the only way to get to Oqaatsut is by snowshoe, ski, dog sled, or snowmobile.

Great videos my travel habits are very like yours I work shifts in my job and have 4 & 5 day breaks in my shift pattern and I try to find cheap flights to somewhere new and spend 4 or 5 days or a little more sometimes and totally explore the world and I am obsessed with Greenland at the moment which is how I found your videos

In the U.S.A., they try to keep the cost low when building houses and that is why most houses and hotels in the U.S.A have thin walls, poor noise insulation, and boring external design.
