On our way to Meknes, we found a small roadside cafe where the owners serve up delicious tagines and as a bonus allow you to spend the night next to the restaurant! From there it was a short drive to the emerald city of Ouazzane - where we spent a delightful couple of hours strolling the streets and markets.

"Hi André and Lisa, I am so happy to see how smoothly you are getting around in Morocco. I won't hide the fact that I've had my concerns about taking my closest family on this adventure. When I see your lovely videos, it seems to me that the most dangerous thing about Morocco is cholesterol problems. 😎"

Wonderful video. You guys are so brave to go "off-piste". I'm not surprised that you are finding the people to be so friendly, its in their DNA. They pride themselves on being very good hosts. If I'm not mistaken Kawa is the Arabic for Coffee. A French friend of ours has a dog called Kawa and he advises me with confidence that its the Arabic for coffee. You guys and your pastries... Moroccan pastries tend to be very sweet and sticky but so nice. Its much greener than I thought it would be. Great to be able to follow you guys at a safe distance !

Thanks Ronan! We're not that brave, we feel very safe here! The most touristy places are in fact probably the biggest risk of opportunistic activities. However the pastries are becoming a big concern! 😝 Oddly we don't find them overly sweet because of the use of honey above sugar. But yes, still sweet! As we move south the landscape is changing but the rolling green hills also took us by surprise! Thanks for always travelling along! 😊

Looks like you are both enjoying your Moroccan adventures. I totally agree with your decision to slow down and take in more of the local culture. Yes, it can feel awkward when you are the centre of attention, but the locals seem to be friendly enough. And the food looks delicious. Maybe not so healthy, but you're allowed to treat yourselves now and again. Excellent content as always. Safe travels.

Wow loving Morocco and the green city… and those blue skies! So good to be off the beaten track’ …looks so culturally different and loving the tiny streets and the markets! We are so with you re slow living and taking you’re time…and enjoying the great quiet space to park for a few days! After all it’s the journey as well as the destination …and the very nature of vanlife 🙏🥰🌄🌅🚌 Oooh Lisa is working….. interesting? You found some local traditionally cooked food, and gosh how cheap are the pastries and how yummy they look albeit super sweet! I love the look of the breads and flat breads…I am assuming they are good. 🤩 Thanks again for sharing …and looking forward to the next vlog…the colours too are so inviting….have a beautiful time 😍

As a new subscriber I’ve only watched a few of your vids so far, but am really inspired to hit European roads and do the adventure thing. My wife and I both want to travel slowly without a particular destination/time constraint. Really enjoying the mods you’ve done. But one question I haven’t seen asked often is , does anyone watch their vans payload and is it ever checked in Europe ? 🍻
@WeWillNomad
@WeWillNomad 4 ай бұрын
Hi Bill and welcome to our channel! It's hard to say how many people in general are keeping an eye on the payload but from within our friends everyone is very aware of payload limits. That said we're all probably always right at the limit or even over at times - especially filled with water and fuel. On France motorways there are sometimes dedicated police squads checking axle weight on vehicles and motorhomes with rear racks carrying scooters or even bicycles are especially at risk. We have heard of spot checking at weigh stations in Germany as well. Personally, we've never been checked but we try to get ourselves on a public weigh station every now and then. We have heard of travelers being fined heavily and also some who had to redistribute loads on the spot. In this sense a 5t plated vehicle gives so much more of a safety net, and if you can still keep it close to 3.5t you're winning. There is a downside though, as there are MANY restrictions on >3.5t vehicles in most countries and in addition you have to carry toll transponders in some countries rather than use a vignette.
@billbike4662
@billbike4662 4 ай бұрын
@@WeWillNomad Thanks for the first hand knowledge on weight restrictions. We’ve been shopping for a van, payload is very rarely seen listed. Some BIG name manufacturers (AT) have some unfit for purpose max payload capacities 😳! We won’t be off. 😬Learning soo much through excellent FB channels such as yours. Really enjoy and appreciate you taking us along on your ✨ awesome travels🍻!

We're biased of course, but your videos are great and continue to inspire us - hopefully thi Moroccan series will bring you plenty more viewers. We've had so many experiences we haven't filmed here as we're still nervous with the camera in public (particualry in the less touristy areas)! You guys appear so natural.

🤣 You guys always make us laugh! It can definitely be a challenge to film and sometimes it's not only about being comfortable but also not wanting to make others feel uncomfortable. We have to remember that people are just going about their daily lives and we need to respect that too, so it can well be tricky! Most important is to keep enjoying these new experiences! 😊

Great videos, they really bring Morocco into the kitchen! We are arriving from France next week and have French and Spanish gas bottles. Do know which is the easiest to exchange, or do we have to buy a local one? We are there for 5 weeks and have 2 large bottles. Thanks for the really good content.
@WeWillNomad
@WeWillNomad 4 ай бұрын
Thanks! You won't be able to exchange either bottles. So you could either bring both if you think this will be enough to last the 5 weeks or otherwise rather leave one at home so that you have space for a local bottle (that's what we did). The local bottles are really cheap (80 MAD for 12kg bottle or only 43 MAD when you exchange them) but if you have a bulk head regulator then you may need a pigtail that will fit a 21.8 LH thread for the local bottle (same as German and British bottles). Hope you have a fantastic trip! 😊

Small towns have plenty of little private 'convenience stores' for basics. Fruits and vegetables stalls are also all over and the quality is really good. You will also find butchers in every town and usually a 'chicken shop' which specialize in chicken cuts. Most larger towns have small supermarkets, and it scales up to large Marjane or Carrefour Hypermarkets around cities. In our next video we show a Hypermarket near Meknes.
