Exploring Pirates and Caves: Gold Rock Beach, Grand Bahama Island Adventure Awaits.
The Lucayan National Park is a natural wonder located on Grand Bahama Island. The park is home to one of the world’s longest underwater cave systems, preserved remains of Lucayan Indians, and the world-famous Pirates of the Caribbean Gold Rock Beach. The park’s crystal blue water caves are amazing, the most unique and serene spot we have visited so far in the Bahamas. The Lucayan National Park is named after the original inhabitants of the Bahamas, who used the caves as a source of freshwater and for the ceremonial burial of their dead.
Gold Rock Beach is the most beautiful beach that we have ever visited. The smooth white sand and clear blue water were made famous by Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean crew filming scenes from two of their movies here. At low tide, the amazing sandbanks are visible and easily accessible. It was a spectacular setting for our latest Yard2Yacht episode, available on Your Home TV this Thursday.
The Garden of the Groves is a 12-acre garden located in Freeport, Grand
Bahama Island. It is known for its winding trails through lush vegetation, cascading waterfalls, and sparkling fountains. The garden is home to a variety of tropical plants and animals, including indigenous and migratory birds and butterflies. The picturesque chapel in the garden has been consecrated and is a favorite place for weddings, prayer, and meditation.

Ok, spiders and the Garden of the Groves; Gotta story for you. The first time I went there, November of 2014, I remember our guide explaining that it had the only waterfall on the island. It dropped maybe 10 feet into a small pool, maybe 100 feet long by maybe 40 feet wide. There was a white rope, a good 2 inches thick going across the pond, maybe 75 feet in length altogether. When I asked about it imagine the look on my face when I was told that wasn't a rope; it was what was left of a huge spiderweb! It had been there for decades, and that last "rope" was all that was left of it. At least 2 full inches thick. Just ... think about that, for a second. The legend is that nobody ever saw the critter that put it there. At least, nobody that survived seeing it. I'm glad that I was told this at the end of the tour, instead of the beginning!

So you had to pay someone to go to the park, the caves? I've been there a few times now and I paid my guide but he didn't pay anyone, I've never seen anyone to pay actually.
