Sounds like some great places! Everyone keeps recommending them to us, where in particular is the best place to go to experience the polish outdoors?

@@BB.Beyond.Borders Mate, it depends what you are looking for. Zakopane/Tatry is a good place to experience Polish Mountains. You want to see Masurian Province of 2000 lakes you go to Mikołajki and Giżycko. To seek sea experience most people go around the Hel Peninsula (Gdańsk is next to it). I'd even say it's better to take an appartment in Gdańsk/Sopot and go for sighseeing Hel by train. Also, there's a Malbork Castle like 60km from Gdańsk, it's the biggest brick castle in the World. But, most tourist go into much more historical Places like Cracov, Sandomierz, Toruń, Wrocław or Gdańsk (or Warsaw - but I don't find it worth more than a day).

The saleswoman selling you ice cream was surprised by the tourists from South Africa because tourists from your country are rare guests in Poland. You travel by bus and very well. In larger cities, Poles move around like this and do not worry about where to park the car due to the fact that these are old cities and the infrastructure has not provided for such a thing as a car. Have fun .😃

You said that the ice cream seller was surprised that there are no black people from South Africa, but I will surprise you people in Poland know a lot about South Africa and its realities, they are people educated in a wide range, also in geography. Poland has the most people in Europe with degrees in engineering or master's degree and I wouldn't be surprised that the lady who sold you ice cream is a university graduate. Poland is safe, you can walk around even at night. An interesting fact - in Western Europe, a photo from the Warsaw subway was shown during rush hours and everyone wondered what kind of country it was, that you can't see any of a different skin color what a racist country it was and it was Poland - yes, we are a homogeneous country, but not racists. Polish genes have been in this area for 10,000 years. 10 percent of the community are descendants of Jews, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Italians, French, Scots, Armenians and Tatars.

Yo guys, I'm glad to see you enjoy your visit in Szczecin! I'm a local amateur photographer and I love my city, though it's not really a tourist town so even if you accidentally picked Szczecin just because it's the closest one to Berlin I wanna thank you so much for visiting 😊 for most of the time I've felt like szczecin was behind other cities in Poland, but you inspired me too look at my home city from the new perspective, I hope you'll come back one day and maybe we can take some photos 😍

Kasprowicz park which you have visited is not the biggest park in Poland, it is not even biggest in Szczecin. Largest park is Cmentarz Centralny ( Central Cemetery ) in Gumience, south-western part of the city ( second only to cemetary in Hamburg ). It is more than 3 times bigger than Kasprowicz park and officially recognised as a park and a botanical garden; really worth visiting. Very good film. Best regards 😀

Szczecin is not such a top tourist destination in Poland. Mainly in Pomorze, tourists visit Gdańsk, and in the south, Kraków and near Kraków, the oldest salt mine in Europe - Wieliczka, and a little further down Kraków, the mountain region of Zakopane. And what do you have planned?

You are a fantastic couple, it's great to look at you, but you haven't met Poland yet :) Szczecin is great, but go deeper, you will get to know a completely different Europe, different traditions, culture, because Poland is a place where a mix of cultures and religions intersected, like hardly anywhere in Europe. The vilee wars destroyed, but not everything. Don't leave Poland, it's cheaper here than in Berlin ;)

Szczecin is the least polish city both in terms of its architecture and culture and therefore rather a poor choice to explore Poland. It's more of yet another district of Berlin, only people are speaking polish. ;)

@@BB.Beyond.Borders I'd say cities in eastern and southern Poland: Lublin, Rzeszów, in western Poland Poznań. Try also smaller towns like Sandomierz, Zamość or Kazimierz Dolny. Due to its complicated history and population exchange in 20th century, Szczecin developed its own distinctive culture, which differs from the rest of Poland in many ways. It does not make the city better or worse, just different.
