This temple signifies female energy. It's dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya, the Goddess of desire, fertility and creation. She's also wife of Lord Shiva. Unlike most temples, this temples doesn't have a deity inside it, instead it's a rock cut formation of female genitalia and womb, which is believed to be Goddess's womb and genitalia that fell on that hill.

Nice reporting on Sati buddy. You're at the magical 108K number. A few do sacrifice animals but not all over. I just ain't down with that though.

I guess you can put your shoes in a plastic bag and put that in your backpack. I should do it too.

In some of the temples and ashrams I visited bringing your shoes in even in your backpack was not allowed and seen as disrespectful. But the rules vary. Almost always there were places to leave your shoes, sometimes free, sometimes maybe 20 rupees.

@@samewalt6486 Putting shoes in your backpack is stealing their business of stealing shoes, so they are cutting down on competition.

@@herp_derpingson I've visited many temples and ashrams and never had my shoes stolen. When visiting you respect the culture.
